Do you have a child aged 9 to 14? Want to test Eedi Family’s improved online maths lessons?

We’re looking for Mumsnet users with a child aged 9 to 14 to test the improved version of Eedi Family, an online Maths learning platform that provides interactive maths lessons for children to build confidence in maths. Following a product test last year, lots of the suggested feedback has been implemented and Eedi would like to hear what you think about their current offering.

Find out more about Eedi here.

Here’s what Eedi has to say: “We believe that every child has the potential to thrive in maths with the right support. Eedi Family helps children build maths confidence at home while giving you the peace of mind that your child is making progress in maths in these turbulent times. Eedi will not only motivate your child to practice Topics they need to review, but our learning companion and live expert maths teachers will help your child improve in maths quickly with tailored feedback - so they can spend less time on devices and more time offline.

This is our second time on Mumsnet review - on our first early iteration we tested our beta product and got amazing feedback from Mumsnet testers. We’ve implemented much of that feedback, in particular:

- Children can now search for any topic so they can match what they’re doing in school (you still have recommendations though!)
- Children can now take a Lesson before reviewing Topics if they need a refresher
- We reduced Lesson and video length and encourage shorter but more frequent use
- We increased availability of live teacher support during the Lessons
- Added Achievements and Routines to increase motivation - this is a space we’re actively working and would love to hear your feedback here

We’re excited to engage with the Mumsnet community again and learn from your feedback.

Join us in trying an affordable alternative to private tuition that helps your child try their best and want to keep learning.”

Selected testers will receive a one month free trial of Eedi Family. Those who don’t already have an Eedi Family account will need to sign up to the service as a new user using a personalised Mumsnet promo code. Please note that this may mean receiving communications from Eedi while taking part in the trial. Those who took part in the last test and already have an account won’t need to enter a promo code, Eedi will reactivate their old account the week that they want to start testing.

Families who use Eedi at least once a week during the test and give feedback will also get a ‘Little Mystery Box’ from Eedi. What does it contain? It’s a surprise, but you can imagine that it’s lots of things you’d have wanted to have as a child in school.

Following using Eedi Family, selected testers will need to give their feedback via a thread on Mumsnet and complete a short survey. All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Interested in taking part? Please sign up here - you’ll have the option to choose when you’d like to start testing, up until the end of April.

Thanks and good luck!

@JustineBMumsnet it just says question 4 requires an answer even though I've picked one

JustineBMumsnet · 26/03/2021 15:02

@hedgehogger1 thanks very much for letting us know, we're just taking a look at this. Had you selected more than two answer options? We're looking for just one or two answers selected for this question. Our error message if you selected more than two answers wasn't very helpful (apologies!) so this could have been confusing. Hopefully this helps, but let us know if not and we'll take a look at the survey settings again.

Entered, with interest...

Buckingafout · 30/03/2021 16:51

Ohh interesting

NativityDreaming · 30/03/2021 21:45

I have received the code for one month free but when I signed up on eedi it stated that it was only for children in Y6 or higher. As this test was open to children from aged 9 that would be Y4. Can we still take part?

boddtm · 30/03/2021 21:49

Would be interested if the trial is still available!

NativityDreaming · 30/03/2021 22:04

Hi @JustineBMumsnet here is the error message I received when trying to select Y4

@NativityDreaming

Hi *@JustineBMumsnet* here is the error message I received when trying to select Y4
Me too, I was also trying to select year 4.
NativityDreaming · 31/03/2021 09:15

@JustineBMumsnet to add further to this Eedi has sent me an email this morning saying my trial has ended. I had input the Mumsnet one month free code. I assume they are not accepting 9 and 10 years olds for the trial. Can you please confirm?

@JustineBMumsnet any chance if arranging something like this for the Scottish curriculum?

jennymac31 · 06/04/2021 20:52

I've just tried to sign up but the same error message mentioned above pops up when I select year 4.

PJ04JCW · 10/04/2021 14:20

Just got this going this morning and was horrified that one of the questions in the level booster included “journey’s” instead of journeys. Maybe Eedi needs some English lessons.

Buckingafout · 10/04/2021 14:20

Well we have started! It's a good idea, looks a lot like Khan academy in presentation. DD liked the"live lesson" in text format. I felt it looked very much like a bot, formulaic. It helped a little but didn't really explain the concept (I also struggled with one of the questions Blush)

occa · 15/04/2021 20:44

We've started too. DS quite likes it and says it's pretty standard, difficulty wise. He says it reminds him lot of Duolingo.

raresky · 20/04/2021 11:04

thanx for sharing.

Teladi · 04/05/2021 10:27

Is there a feedback thread for this yet?

JustineBMumsnet · 04/05/2021 10:43

Hi @Teladi - thanks for asking! There will be very soon for the first group of testers. We're expecting to email you with links and details today (and if not, tomorrow) Smile
