We've been asked by Philips to find 15 MNers UK based who are willing to put their new HomeCooker (and cutting tower) to the MN test! This is a brand new product and MNers will be among the first to try it.

The HomeCooker is the first in the new range of kitchen appliances that has been co-created by Philips and Jamie Oliver and is a first-of-its-kind, multi-functional device that does the preparation as well as the cooking, meaning you can cook fresh and stay fresh.

For more information please see www.philips.co.uk/e/homecooker/home.html

Philips say "Enabling you to prepare homemade meals even on your busiest days, the HomeCooker has been specially designed to achieve authentic home cooking with ease. It can chop, stir, steam and sauté and be left cooking unattended".

As Jamie Oliver explains: "We all know it can be a struggle to get fresh, homemade food on the table every day, especially for busy parents who have to juggle so much. It's often a real tradeoff between spending time with the family and getting fresh food on the table. The beauty of the Philips HomeCooker is that it removes this dilemma - you can now do both! Whether you're a beginner cook or a more experienced chef, the HomeCooker takes the pressure off in the kitchen. Because it stirs itself you don't have to stand over a stove but you can still invest all that love and creativity into your meal."

For this we're looking for a range of people - it's aimed at those who like to and want to cook fresh meals but often struggle to find the time.

If you're selected for this product test you will be sent the HomeCooker (and cutting tower) and ingredients to follow one of the recipes provided. You may also want you to try some of your favourites in it.

We'll need you to add three lots of feedback:

 1. First impressions on a thread on site

 2. Your opinion after you've been using it for a couple of weeks on a thread (we will add more questions to the thread)

 3. A review on the MN Reviews section

So long as you do all three you will be able to keep the HomeCooker after testing (RRP £350).

We'd also like testers to send in about 5 photos of the food you create using the HomeCooker - these can be anonymous and will be used on the Philips Facebook pages

If you'd like to put it through the paces please sign up here - if you are selected we will be in touch.

Thanks and good luck

I put off my food shop, waiting to see what we are being sent...I hate waste.

That said I'll have to do a minimum frozen/tin/dried shop in the meantime to keep us going...guess we won't hear until Monday at the earliest now ?!

SharpObject · 15/09/2012 17:51

I was really hoping it would be here for the weekend when I have time on my hands.

That said I will be rushing about after work and school clubs this week so probably a better way to test it out although I won't be here during the day for it to be delivered.....

ClaireDeTamble · 16/09/2012 13:24

Has anyone had the call yet?

I'm getting paranoid that I put the wrong number down Confused

HazeltheMcWitch · 16/09/2012 17:45

No call! Nothing since Weds, the email saying "..you should shortly be receiving a call from the team..."

Shortly?! It'll be 5 whole days tomorrow!

libelulle · 17/09/2012 12:07

oooh just got a call, it's arriving tomorrow! along with a voucher for fresh ingredients!!!! Just doing a little dance round the kitchen.

HazeltheMcWitch · 17/09/2012 12:37

Snap, just had my call too!
We have to make risotto, hence ingreds.
Am ridiculously excited!

Fiveisenough · 17/09/2012 12:43

Just missed the call! Tried calling back but she must be busy phoning everyone else!

Fiveisenough · 17/09/2012 12:53

She left Me the wrong number! But it's all good and coming tomorrow! Am so excited would dance also but might get odd looks at work Grin

HazeltheMcWitch · 17/09/2012 12:54

Hurrah!!!!

Babieseverywhere · 17/09/2012 18:27

Mine's coming tomorrow and I can't wait :)

WinkyWinkola · 17/09/2012 22:48

Harumph. Ugly Mrs. EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy coming up.

libelulle · 18/09/2012 09:33

Well, it's here! And very fine it looks too. No vouchers or instructions as to what to cook though, i assume they come separately - or did anyone else get them at the same time?

Fiveisenough · 18/09/2012 09:48

Mine's here too. I think The voucher and instructions are coming separately. Had mine delivered to work so haven't opened it yet. Just have to work out how to get the massive box home!

HazeltheMcWitch · 18/09/2012 09:56

Just got mine - again, no ingreds, vouchers or instructions.
I want to play with it NOW !!!

Babieseverywhere · 18/09/2012 12:16

Yippee, mine is here. Waiting on the ingredients, nice lady on the phone said they would come in two shipments. I hope it doesn't come when I'm on the afternoon school run ?! Might arrange for someone else to pick up the children just in case :)

sarahbanshee · 18/09/2012 14:56

Mine is here too! It's very large and shiny and is sitting on my kitchen counter putting the rest of my appliances to shame in its gleaming newness.

No voucher yet but I know it's coming, I had to say which supermarket would suit me best. (Resisted the temptation to demand Fortnum & Mason tokens.)

Looking forward to trying it out.

Halfling · 18/09/2012 15:12

Mine is here Grin - Cooker and cutting tower! But no instructions on how to participate in the trial. Maybe it will come later with the voucher.

I am so pleased right now, I want to kiss Jamie Oliver! Really look forward to trying it and will do my best to give useful inputs.

Jux · 18/09/2012 17:52

EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy

Have fun with them, you lucky devils!

SharpObject · 18/09/2012 18:05

Am I the only one using it right now? I have the paella stiring away as I type, really easy to put togeather.

The onions did catch a little on the bottom (maybe not enough oil?) and I couldn't resist a little stir with a wooden spoon but it is will be ready now in 5 minutes.

I forgot to use the tower to chop the onion though Blush

libelulle · 18/09/2012 18:12

I'm intending to try it out with a stew later today!

SharpObject · 18/09/2012 18:32

Paella was lovely although I dd a basic cheapskate version as in only used onion, garlic, paella rice, stock, toms and little prawns but my 4 year old loved it and she is über fussy!

You must let us know how the stew goes lib I can't wait for the review thread!

Just off to give it a wash...

Babieseverywhere · 18/09/2012 22:25

I have a shopping list for tomorrow which includes the ingredients for a couple of the meals in the recipe book, so I hope to have a go for lunch, starting with a basic soup.

Shame their food didn't arrive today, as I need to go out tomorrow to get my own food and will properly miss their second delivery.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 18/09/2012 22:55

Mine was supposed to arrive today but didn't. Harumph. No doubt bloody couriers that can't do next day delivery to Scotland. Lovely lady asked me when would suit, arranged for today as im out the rest of the week now. Think i might sulk.

ClaireDeTamble · 19/09/2012 06:26

Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday and didn't too. Sad

HazeltheMcWitch · 19/09/2012 08:58

Ooh, just got my ingreds, and the recipe for the risotto that I guess we need to cook and post about (no instructions for the trial).
In case anyone else enjoys living vicariously, as do I, here is a list of the contents:
1x 500ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1x 500ml Essentials Olive Oil, 1 x 250ml bottle white cooking wine, Bisto Stock Melts - Veg stock (4), Arborio Rice... all form Waitrose, dontcha know - very MN! And a £20 gift card for the supermarket of my choice to buy the fresh ingreds to make the (asparagus, pea and broad bean) risotto.
All packed in the cutest John Lewis/Clarissa Hulse coolbag.
I am very happy and delighted that today's not a work day for me, so I can get on playing with it!
