You magazine eco columnist and editor of a Slice of Organic Life, Sheherazade Goldsmith, will be joining us for an online chat to share her green tips on Wednesday June 18th from 1-2pm. Sheharazade is an eco mum with three children under ten. She's launching the Peter Rabbit Naturally Better initiative which sees the well-loved Beatrix Potter creation become the first ever licensed character to go green.

Created in 1893, the naughty little rabbit is the oldest licensed children's character in the world and this new initiative reflects the importance that Beatrix Potter placed on the natural world and the environment.

If you can't make it on Weds, you can post your questions in advance here. Otherwise, we'll see you with your organic salads (home grown of course ) on weds lunchtime.

what I want to know is what gives celebs (and I am talking to you Sienna Miller and Leonardo do Twattio) the right to preach to me about global warming and carbon chuffin footprint waffle waffle

when THEY have 156 houses and fly round the world every week preaching away with a pained expression about the ickle icebergs

oh but they offset the flights [yawn]

piss off

bundle · 18/06/2008 10:55

getbackinyouryurtjimjams, I would email the said shop directly! do let us know what they say..

bundle · 18/06/2008 10:56

offsetting is so last year olive, they should know better

Oliveoil · 18/06/2008 10:57

it is a pile of cack

can we get Normandie Keith in to discuss £4508 spa breaks next week? soooooo relevant I find

thanks

katierocket · 18/06/2008 11:08

why isn't this stickied then?

IdrisTheDragon · 18/06/2008 11:10

Have finally found this (this is what comes of hiding sticky threads)

katierocket · 18/06/2008 11:10

But that's the point, it's not stickied.

Swedes · 18/06/2008 11:12

When your children have McDonalds happy meals, are they not even allowed to keep the free plastic toy?

IdrisTheDragon · 18/06/2008 11:13

True - but it was earlier on

poppy34 · 18/06/2008 11:16

is this going ahead as I'm right up for asking hwo the eco warrior bit fits in with budgetary constraints esp with current economic climate - am right with yurt and aitch on this.

and if so what qualifications/experiences does she think put her in a position to give advice on this kind of thing? This is not an envy thing -its a simple statement of fact that I am unable to see from what I have read of her life and experiences what makes her feel she can ponitficate on this.

but as this seems to have been dropped from my ticker bit flagging it up I do wonder if it is happening...

oliveoil I too find the musings of normandie keith immensely useful and relevant. I'd also quite like it if we got Liz jones on to talk about handling relationship issues in a discrete way

orangina · 18/06/2008 11:19

how about geri halliwell to talk about being a single mum?

AitchTwoCiao · 18/06/2008 11:23

lololol orangina. you've GOT to start a new thread for that... make the suggestion and watch the fur fly.

Oliveoil · 18/06/2008 11:35

I am sure Sharon Sheherazade Goldsmith is lovely and a nice person but this Peter Rabbit thing is twee and making me feel vomity

I read her column in You Mag (Disclaimer: MIL's copy) and it is ok if not relevant to me one iota, what with its organic paint angst etc

so I hope she is not upset with this thread as I would be if I read it

orangina · 18/06/2008 11:40

I'll let you start the thread Aitch...

I'm only asking for a continuation of the very subject she talked about in her recent Hello article....

(Will attempt to find link now...)

orangina · 18/06/2008 11:42

It's a challenge apparently....

ah i am shocked that this has been cancelled

AitchTwoCiao · 18/06/2008 12:03

has it?

Monkeytrousers · 18/06/2008 12:04

Geri Halliwell? Single mum?? Do you class as a single mum when you have an army of PA's and nannies? Don't think so

SNoraWotzThat · 18/06/2008 12:08

Have you lot scared her off?

SNoraWotzThat · 18/06/2008 12:10

thread on MN about it here

poppy34 · 18/06/2008 12:11

yes but she did answer some of our questions...

DarthVader · 18/06/2008 16:35

in a way that certainly rocked my world

Monkeytrousers · 18/06/2008 17:36

I hope we'd all give Zak Goldsmith just as short shrift?

DarthVader · 18/06/2008 18:07

Well for me it depends on what he wants to talk about. If he wants to tell us how to be more green like himself then I don't want to talk to him.

If for example he wants to discuss fussy eater children with regard to his own personal experience I would be interested in what he had to say.
