Just for all you " bah humbug" lot who didn't want us to talk about Glastonbury ....

and for those of you who really wanted to go but couldn't make it this year....have been with DD this afternoon, absolutely fantastic atmoshpere (first time for us !!.....but it IS a blimmin' mud bath, in fact more like an ice skating rink made of bath.....not sure how those folk cope with staying in their tents with so much mud slushing about !!!

Anyway, saw Amy Winehouse this afternoon (fab !!) and visited the dance tent (difficult to dance on a mud ice rink !!) DD and I had our faces painted in the KIDZ zone and saw a couple of great shows, we're hoping to go back again tomorrow...sure more mnetter will have some update in the week - pleeeeease let the sun shine tomorrow !!!

I saw all the mud on the news. The weather has been bad today.I am only a few miles from there. Never wanted to go though. I don't like crowds!

BettySpaghetti · 22/06/2007 20:24

We're watching the live coverage on Freeview now -have seen some real (drugs and mud) casualties already!

BGS -are you going each day with your DD or was it just today?

CarGirl · 22/06/2007 20:31

Can't remember who bought my 3 wheeler to take there but I hope it's withstanding the mud bath. The news coverage made me think NEVER would I go there!

Flamesparrow · 22/06/2007 20:32

I am relieved that we couldn't do it this year - aiming for next year when DS is less likely to throw himself on his front and lick mud

Boobsgonesouth · 23/06/2007 06:52

we are off again today as DS (and DH???) really wants to visit the kidz zone....We have a very old land rover buggy so DD (4) went in that yesterday - it really did me proud as carved through the mud no probs..... My muscles are aching this morning from all the walking, the mud must have made it much harder work and what with the buggy, turned my leisurly stroll into a workout, lucky me !!!

The security is really tight, they'd pulled a couple of guys up on the gate for"in possession" and were in the process of calling the police to take the guys off, so no festival for them....

Where abouts are you tortoise, as we're just up the road from the festival site too ?????!!!!

It was really nice to get home yesterday evening, have a bath, cp of tea then snggle down into my own bed, not very rock n roll

I didn't know you could go there just for the day - thought you had to to camp. Might try to go next time - it looks fab.
Although sitting on the sofa with a bottle of wine watching Amy Winehouse was pretty good too.
Just caught up on the interactive loop in BBC 2 and saw Lily Allen.

policywonk · 23/06/2007 21:15

I went in 1995 and there was hardly a drop of rain

Never went back - figured I'd probably used up all my Glasto-related weather luck

Boobsgonesouth · 24/06/2007 13:49

Lily Allen was very 'naughty" (language ladies !!) but fab...we were up on the hill watching her ( relatively speaking mud free - well only about an inch compared to everywehre else !!) Supposed to be going back again tonight for The Who (DH is big fan !!) but feel "Glasto'd out now"...might have o watch it on the TV (how rock 'n' roll is that, not !!)
