We'll be live on Facebook with comedian and Peep Show star Robert Webb on Thursday at 1 when he'll be joining us to discuss his recently published memoir How Not to be a Boy. Reflecting on his own experiences, Robert will be addressing some of the common stereotypes bestowed on boys and men and asking how true - and how helpful - they really are.

Join us live on Thursday at 1 to put your questions to Robert. If you're unable to join at that time, please post up your Qs on this thread and we'll try and get as many Qs as possible to Robert on the day. Everyone who posts a question or comments during the Facebook Live will be entered into a draw to win a signed copy of Robert's book How Not to be a Boy

@RachelMumsnet
Were my questions that bad?! (Yes I know...3. Don't moan but I was second on here to ask a question and am now having a sulk). Did he only have 20 minutes available (ime the chats on here are (not fb) are usually an hour. Is fb/video the future or will we be having any "normal" webchats soon. Thanks in advance CakeBrew

Pity about the sound for the questions - lucky that he started repeating the questions back.

I had to go sign on to Facebook for this!

I think I prefer the webchat format tbh, it feels a bit more interactive and people discuss stuff more here during the chat. (Okay, I realise that can go a bit pearshaped sometimes Biscuit Biscuit - but it makes it more of a chat, less of a slightly stilted interview - I think someone other than Robert Webb might have been a bit painful to watch, but he smoothed any awkward bits over really well.) Also he answered my question!

Thanks very much for the C4 link Empressofthespartacusoceans (could you make your a bit longer?... Had to write it all out to show gratitude! Grin

Will try HQ face link now as I'm not a fan but would love to hear more on this topic and book.

slightlyglittered didn't read your post properly.
HQ ... Log into facebook? Really?! Will have to open an account, seems too drastic so I'm missing out. Why did you choose this method this time?

slightlyglittermaned · 02/09/2017 23:54

GorgeousLadyOfWrangling - all the questions asked seemed to me to be very short (I couldn't hear them!) - which isn't the same as normal webchats where longer questions w/ lots more context get answered. I don't think I like that - makes it seem shallower.

Though I guess answering the questions verbally might be easier for anyone who isn't a speed typist.

I prefer the web chat format.
