Calling all Bridget Jones fans! We’re giving you the chance to put your questions to Helen Fielding who is joining us for a webchat on Thursday 27 October between 9 and 10pm.
Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries is the latest installment charting the life of this literary phenomenon. Everyone who joins the webchat will be entered into a draw to win one of two SIGNED copies of Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries.

Helen is one of the country’s greatest comic writers. Bridget Jones’s Baby is her sixth book and she is part of the screenwriting team on the three films. We're really honoured that she's agreed to give us her time on Thursday from her home in Los Angeles, so please do come along and join the chat. If you’re unable to make that time, feel free to post up a question in advance to this thread.

When you were first approached for turning your wonderful book into a film who initially sprang to your mind as to who you saw playing your characters? Is there any one person who, in an ideal world, you would have liked to have seen cast??

Susan, whenever the chat takes place, you just stay on the thread and refresh it IIRC as the celeb or whoever adds their answers and other people comment.

Aw Susan...you just log on, can comment like you normally would while it is happening or ask follow up questions, as poncho said refresh. Some are busy, some not...most slebs go back to the start of the thread and answer the questions there, others take live questions then go back to the older ones.

Refresh is the circular arrow refresh button on your address bar...it reloads the page.
Iirc = if I recall correctly

Just as Kimmy and Alchemy said, "refresh" means to reload the page, so that you get the most up-to-date version of the thread with all the most recent replies.

You can do this by

  • pressing the "ctrl" and "r" keys at the same time, or
  • pressing the F5 button at the top of your keyboard, or
  • clicking the little arrow button up near the top of your screen by the address (www.mumsnet..etc ectc.. ), as Alchemy said.

It's all new to us at some point. And I am definitely going to ring my mum tomorrow and find out if she's just joined Mumsnet. Grin
