Big girl bed...

Good evening ladies and gents,

Our dd is two and a half and we have made a second attempt at the leap from her cot to a big girl bed. She is showing signs of wanting to potty train so we really want to crack bedtimes.

The current routine is bath time around 18:30. milk and a story after which she is generally quite chilled and asking to go in her bed. Then 30 seconds after putting on her star projector and leaving the room she is up.

Jumping out of bed, trying to open curtains, ready books etc everything turns into a game in her eyes. Putting her back in bed just makes her smile and laugh.

Any words of wisdom. My wife and I have tried a few different approaches but generally resulting in dd finally giving into sleep around 21:00, some times later....

This then results in a tired and tearful toddler the following morning

Help!

Come down on her extra hard to set the rules up. No getting out of bed! It's time for sleep etc.

Then ignore ignore ignore. She will get bored and maybe crash out on the floor but don't enter into her games. The novelty will wear off.
