Hi everyone,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our campaign that is aiming to raise funds to tackle the systemic sexism women and girls face within gynaecological healthcare.
Far too many of us know what it’s like to have our symptoms dismissed, to be told it’s 'normal' or 'just stress'.
For people with conditions like endometriosis, it takes an average of nine years to get a diagnosis. Nine years of pain, appointments, and disbelief.
This isn’t because women’s bodies are too complex — it’s because they’ve been excluded.
Less than 2.5% of medical research funding goes towards women’s reproductive health, even though we make up over half the population. That gap shapes who gets believed, diagnosed, and treated - and who gets left behind.
The campaign, 'Sexism in Healthcare Destroys Lives', is working to change that by raising £20,000 by the 15th October 2025.
All donations during this period will be matched ( so every £1 becomes £2! ) and publicly acknowledged through WRA UK’s networks.
If you can, please consider:
💜 Donating directly here → Sexism in healthcare destroys lives – Big Give
💜 Sharing the campaign with your networks, social media, or workplace
💜 Tagging or suggesting others who might be able to support
We’re working hard today so future generations of women and girls don’t have to fight to be believed or suffer in silence.
Together, we can start to close the gender health gap - for all.
