Hi there,
At Mumsnet, our campaigns are driven by the experiences and concerns you share on the site. We know from the many posts on the subject that social media and smartphone use amongst kids is a huge issue - and in a poll earlier this year nearly 70% of you told us you’d like to see a complete social media ban for u16s.
That’s why, in the new year, we’re going to be launching a new campaign on social media use amongst children - not just campaigning for better regulation to protect kids, but gathering the best sources of information and advice for you as parents, and giving you the chance to speak directly to experts about the effects of social media use. We’ve got lots lined up - now we just need your help with a snappy name for the campaign.
We’ve been brainstorming at MNHQ and we’ve narrowed it down to the following:
Rage Against the Screen
Unhooked
Please do vote for your preferred option below. If you absolutely hate both and have another fab suggestions plse post it here. And if you’ve got ideas about what you’d like us to cover as part of the campaign then please do let us know.
Thanks,
Justine
PS As you may have seen, Josh McAllister MP is leading a Safer Phones Bill in Parliament which aims to make smartphones less addictive for children. He’s written for us about the Bill and wants to hear from you about what should be included - you can share your views here.
