Chances Of Another Twin Pregnancy?

I have three surviving children. My last two pregnancies have both been twin pregnancies, one which I lost at 8 weeks and I recently had twin girls at 23+5, after the waters around twin 1 brok eat 14 weeks, although sadly we lost one daughter shortly after birth and one at 9 days old. There are no twins in my family, so you can imagine how suprised and thrilled I was to find out I was pregnant with twins for a second time.

We are TTC again, but have mixed feelings. On one hand, I would be thrilled to be pregnant with twins again, but on the other, I would be more worried about things going wrong. I am slightly more in the 'would be thrilled' camp though.

Does anyone know the how likely it is I would get pregnant with twins again?

midori, I am so sorry to hear about your losses - I remember your recent thread about your waters breaking early.

I am currently pregnant with my second set of twins. From what I can gather, the odds all depend on whether your previous twins were fraternal or identical. If identical, the odds are very high - something like 100,000 - 1 against it happening again because the eg splitting is just a totally random event. If they were fraternal (like my 2 sets) then statistically it's a lot more likely but still pretty rare, around 10,000-1 is what I read somewhere (but can't remember where, nor how reliable that figure might be...)

Wishing you lots of luck with ttc.
