Am I crazy to contemplate this?

I am due in August. My initial 'plan' was to try and knock it on the head in the summer, before the baby arrives. My boys are 2yrs 5 months.

I am now having doubts and wondering if I was being a tad naive!!

I don't think they are quite ready yet as although they dislike dirty nappies and will often let me know (not always - and if they are busy they will deny having a dirty nappy so they can keep playing!) they always say no to the potty or the toilet and I don't want to force it. Am I being too soft?

Any thoughts?
Should I dive in and get it out of they way?
Should I wait until after the baby arrives and I am sure they are ready? (Will they 'regress' anyway once there is a newborn on the scene?)

Thanks in advance!
(I'm getting pressure from family who are of the "you were trained by 9 months camp!!Ugh.)

give it a go - if it doesn't work give up and don't push it. One of my boys got dry about that age, but my twins were nearer 3.5. If the weather turns warm then try a few days without nappies (and without trousers) - and see how it goes.

Ignoring families is always a good policy (especially with twins ).

I would leave it for a while. In my experience if one is ready and one not you will end up with both of them wanting big boy pants and LOTS of accidents. Wait till they are 3 and the new baby is a few months and I am sure you will done and dusted in a week. It will be much less stress. Ignore family advice, it is not them changing the 5th pair of pants that day! I wish I had waited with my twin girls till they were 3 would have been alot easier and we had no new baby on the way. Good luck
