My DTs are 13 months, I have an elder DS of 3. After stopping BF DTs at 9 months, AF came back, but has been irregular - sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, sometimes like now, absent. Am 40 and v anxious am reaching perimenopause. I am also getting hot, particularly in the middle of the night. I got pregnant both times right away so assumed I had a good few years in me yet. Wondered hopefully whether anyone else after multiples took ages to get back to 'normal'..

Hi sorry no reassuring thoughts to offer as I am having the same problem. My DTs are a similar age and I BF until 8 months and my cycle has been all over the place since. I am also getting the hot flushes which I thought were due to iron deficiency as I had them a few months after giving birth and iron infusions got rid of them. However, I have just had a blood test and there is no problem with my iron level now. I now have to have another blood test to check out my hormone levels. I am also really hoping that I am not starting the menopause as I'm in my mid thirties and it seems really early. Perhaps get your iron levels checked out and here's hoping for some cooler nights.

Thanks clown7. Here's hoping this is just a post bf twins thing..My iron levels were low in the blood test result and I'm not great at taking the iron, so maybe I'll try that and hope that helps. The hormone levels were also normal but the cycle isn't, so something's up. I hope your blood tests are reassuring. Let me know if your hot flushes disappear and what might have helped. Were you regular before your DT's? I was 28 days on the dot before my children, so I'm finding this all a bit worrying..
