Your Twin Bump - high or low?

Hi there ladies.

I was wondering. When or while your are pregnant with your multiples, how 'high' or 'low' is your bump?

I am 16wks pregnant. My bump is kind of low, and can be rather uncomfortable when wearing trousers - even maternity ones.

What solutions do you have? Or any thoughts?

Hi, 1st pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare to and I'm quite short but I think its quite high, having said that when I sit down now it's sort of sitting on my legs! It seems to take up my whole torso, top to bottom and side to side! And it's only going to get bigger! I'm 30 weeks.

Hi there Teki, I'm now 35 weeks and my bump has been high rather than low all along, although it has dropped alot now. My bump has been mostly out in front too. I would say though that I have found trousers, especially jeans, very uncomfortable to wear from early on. I guess twins have to take up alot more of the available space.

I'm now mostly wearing dresses with leggings or jersey trousers that go over by bump. I couldn't even look at trousers or jeans.

Mine was very low and uncomfortable i wore dresses and maternity leggings till they became uncomfortable then lived in massive tracksuit bottoms for the last couple of weeks. The poor skin stretched so much it compromised the blood supply on the underneath of the bump and made a big whelt which meant i couldn't wear most of my clothes, only the horrible tracksuit bottoms and fake uggs that people stared at me for - probably thought i was in my pjs.

My twin bump has been extremely high- so high in fact that it regulalrly draws comments of the "ooh, isn't your bump high"? variety

I do know that mine are identical girls, so don't know if that has anything to do with it? (I know some people say girlie bumps tend to carry higher).

I am now 30 weeks and haven't "dropped" yet.

Not sure it was high or low - particularly near the end; the babies sort of fill every bit of space available so your bump never 'drops' as with singleton pregnancies.

It was VERY out in front though - even at the end you couldn't tell I was pg from the back, and it was also v pointy, I looked like a jumbo jet (and about the same size). There are piccies on my profile...

edit beautiful !!!

magnummum · 26/01/2010 22:33

My bump was really low - lived in dresses as unable to get into any maternity trousers from singleton pregnancy with any comfort. Good luck with it all.
