I've just been reading some of the other threads and wondered which of us MN's had the biggest babies? Mine were a good size, 6lbs 2ozs and 6lbs 13ozs, but I know there must be bigger ones....

D'oh posted too early!
My 2 were tiddlers (3lb 14 and 4lb 5) and still are!

My god poorbuthappy how did your great grandmother cope with that?

My twins were bore at 38+3 and weighed 8lb 7 and 8lb.
But then my other DC were big for their terms.
DD1 was 7lb 1 at 36+3 and
DS1 was 11lb 14 at 41wks.

Mine were 6lb10 and 5lb12 at 38+6 weeks. Plently big enough for me at 5'2"

kdk · 16/11/2009 20:32

I was 38+5 weeks and my b/g twins were 6lb 9 and 7lb 12 respectively - I'm only 5' 5" and was the size of a small elephant. There's still a good weight difference between them though ...

4kids...god knows...its suprising how these things never come out until you find out you are pregnant with twins...and then the floodgates open... actually I will ask mum tomorrow and report back!!!!!

4kidsandlovingit · 17/11/2009 23:34

Please do I was shocked by the size of mine but then DS1 had previoulsy stretched everyhing and created lots of room for them.
Mine were c section aswell but my grandad was a twin (not sure what they weighed) but his mother didn`t know she was having twins until the day they were born.

Poledra · 17/11/2009 23:41

I don't have twins, but my twin brother and I were 6lb13 and 7lb14 respectively, 39 years ago. My poor mother is only 5'4''!

At that time, it was hospital policy that all twins went into the equivalent of the Special Care unit for 4 hours for observation. The nurses put up a screen between me and my twin and all the other babies, as we were naking them look even more tiny and poorly by comparison.

twinsmama08 · 02/12/2009 13:50

Hi,
mine were 8lb1 and 7lb2, born at 39+2 by c-section.
Really impressed on how many of yous went full term and beyond, contrary to what doctors usually tells us (I had my hospital bag packed from 7 months!!!)

twinsnikki · 11/12/2009 22:38

My goodness mine were tiny - 37.1 weeks - 5.8 and 6.2!!

Nic

I have a friend who went full term - just over 40 weeks and her boy girl twins were both well over 8lb. My twin girls eased in at a modest 4lb 2oz and 4lb 10oz
