Twin pregnancy- how huge was your bump?

Hi again experienced twin people,

More panic from a 2nd trimester twin pregnancy! I have been looking at some pictures of people at 37 weeks and am now totally sh*ing myself that my previous c section scar will split if I get that far through (which I hope to of course!). I am already massive, but they are just so enormous. Is it really possible?

Very keen to hear stories of success and less keen to hear disaster-tales, but please be honest!

Thanks again

(last posted re breastfeeding, and am now on 2 feeds a day- a big improvement).

disaster tales- to clarify- I meant splitting scars, not tales re size of bump! Can't imagine what those might be- got stuck in an alleyway or something......!

I got so big that when I sat down my bump touched the seat. Thankfully 11 weeks after having them I just sag gracefully but no seat touching.

You'll be fine, i had a c-section with 1st set of twins...and then got pregnant again with another set.....all was fine with the scar..and it is actually a better scar 2nd time round...1st one was a bit bumpy..you should speak to your midwife about your concerns.

I had absolutely no bump at 16 weeks, totally flat tummy . Didn't tell anyone at work that I was pregnant until I was 6.5 month 'gone'.
And then it started to grow, by the 37th week, my bump had it's own post code.....

Hi fusty
Have had two moms with previous c/s in twin antenatal classes pregnant with twins and neither scar popped. They found bellyband support comforting.Best wishes with your pregnancy.

Good luck. I had my own gravity field I'm afraid
It did only get really big in the last 4 weeks though (went to 38 weeks).
My bump is on my profile.

I was huuuuuge, 17.5 stone I'm afraid (made it to 36 weeks) and remember someone saying a few weeks before that they had just seen 'the most pregnant woman they had ever seen in their life'. thanks

I am 21 weeks into twin pregnancy and feel huge already! I too have looked at pictures of bumps and cannot believe it is possible to stand upright with a stomach that size!

The pic on my profile is my bump a few weeks ago and it seems to have grown loads since then.

I hadn't thought about problems with c/s scar......will ask midwife this week I think.

fustilarian · 28/02/2009 19:13

Thanks for the reassurances about the scar galaxymummy,

London11- did you have a c section last time then? I had a look at your profile- the scar must be hardly visible if so if your son is 9...? My DD is only one and a half so I still don't feel my body has gone back to normal from last time! I will check with midwife too.

All others- thanks for posting, the stories are true then- enormous enourmousness is on its way!

My twin pregnancy actually went past due date by 4 days.

The twins were 7lbs and 7lbs 4oz and both breech. I was 5'2"

At 33 weeks I was stopped in the street by a woman who wanted to know how I was managing to keep upright

Happily though with twins and an 18 months old to run after the post pregnancy bump soon went.

Good luck with your twinnies
