Could I have some advice on triplet pram/buggy?

Had thought that we would get the Inglesina Domino Trio pram (supposed to last from 0-3years) as it is narrow (although very long)and we have narrow corridors in our building so a three or even two-wide pram wouldn't work.

Since then, we have heard from another triplet mum that they are very hard to steer and quite dangerous when crossing the road as they stick out so far in front of you. She said she used a twin pram and a sling instead.

Go backwards down the kerb when crossing the road.
Any triple buggy is going to be hard to steer, no?

Yes, you are right. The triple ones with two seats at the bottom and one on top are easier to steer but too wide for our hallways. We are trying to sell our flat but not easy in current financial climate

What about an icandy with a sling initially, then when the babies get bigger you can re-evaluate.

the abc adventure buggy is great. it can seat up to 4 at the same time! ours seats 3 with two next to each other and one on top. i LOVE it. loads of storage, easy to push, (I even go running with mine!)seats lie flat so suitable for babies. here is their web site www.abcbuggy.co.nz/ they are based in new zealand, but have a uk supplier over here based in st neots who were really helpful when we bought ours. (when we bought ours 18 months ago, they only supplied the double buggy bit and we had to order and ship the toddler seat over from NZ but that might have changed now). you get stared at a bit as it is quite an unusual sight, but it is really goood, and fits thorough doorways and everything just as readily as a standard double buggy. If you can wait til october, you can buy ours second hand as we are moving to hong kong and it will be too steep (we'll be living on the side of a mountain) to have any sort of buggy. I feel sad about leaving friends and family behind but devestated at the thought of leaving my buggy, sob!

Hi Barbarella. I have a Jane Powertwin so in same "style" I think as the Inglesina. Obviously it is only two and not three but I never worry when crossing roads, but think the three in a row could be more of a worry as it may be as long as the pavement is wide (if that makes sense) so you would sometimes struggle if crossing not at a crossroads (ie with a potential building / wall / fence behind you).

As I had a 22 month old when my DTs were born I put one twin in sling and pushed powertwin and it was no problem (well, it did have a few problems, but if there is no other option it really is doable, and obviously you at least wont have a heavy toddler in there at that stage, only weeny babies!).

I chose Powertwin as, like you, have narrow hallway and did NOT want to have to take babies out of buggy, potentially in rain/snow/sleet, before I could even get through my own front door.

I do wish I could have had the ABC buggy, but not sure if there is an option for three newborns (think there probably is, but not 100%).

i don't have triplets, but someone near where i live does and she had the inglesina and I used to her her out with it a LOT. so it can't be that bad????

I met her a few times at mother and toddler groups and at the supermarket and she always seemed happy enough pushing it around.

tbh I am sure they must have a good resale value, so even if you hated it and ended up chicking it on ebay and getting a double and a sling instead I doubt you'd lose out much.

mountain buggy do a fab triple, but it's side by side and as you say not really that great for your situation...

get this! says it's narrow enough to fit through the average door. and you get an extra seat lol

I have heard the ABC buggy mentioned and I am originally from New Zealand so should support the economy!

We are still trying to find used triplet prams on ebay so that if they aren't suitable we can sell them on.

LOL thisisyesterday dh can go in extra seat!

egg trying to get to 34 week target (5th of March) but doctor says I am doing so well (!!) he thinks I could try for 35... not sure how much more my belly can stretch!!

Don't know if this will help Barbarella but the mountain buggy double with the double carrycot would easily fit triplets as they're likely to be so small. My twins are huge & still fitting at nearly 5 months (they were born at 39 wks). Means that you can put them all in together v.easily and you can see them all at once. V.v.nice for the first few months. And simplifies things, can just stick one blanket across the whole carrycot.
Just if you were able to borrow one or sell it on after 6 months, might be an idea.
