Are those twins breastfeeding cushions worth the money?

Wondering if anyone could give advice. A friend is expecting twins and is wondering if those cushions are helpful in the early stages of breastfeeding and is it worth getting one? If so are the inflatable or foam type better?

I would strongly recommend one - think I had the inflatable E-Z nurse or something - although some mums seem to manage fine without one. They can be expensive but you - or your friend - might be able to find one on ebay.

i scoffed at them to start with but 6 weeks down the track where i was still finding it really hard to tandem feed them with a tri pillow or stack of pillows i got one and haven't looked back since. i still use it to tandem feed them now and they're 14months although now i feel like i'm just hooked on it and i haven't tried without it. i have a foam one in a U shape with small "bumpers" on the side that kept them from rolling off in the early days when you reached for the second one beside you on the couch. i would say that these pillows are NECESSARY!!

They certainly made things easier for me although I only bought cheaper V-shaped pillows. I got mine from Wilkinsons and I think Argos may sell them too.

my friend who bf twins said the cushion was one of her best buys ever. It was a foam type.

I loved my pillow! It was a bean bag type one like a long sausage that I could mould around me. It was £30 but worth it. I think i was made by grogroup or theraline. If you live in Dorset we could do a deal!

We used the inflatable EZ-2-Nurse, it was a complete Godsend!! I think it's a must for tandem feeding, in my area we lend them out to b-feeding twin Mummies. I'm a breastfeeding peer supporter and always recommend it to everyone. There are few people who don't like it, but most do. Plus, if you don't get it covered in curry, like me, it has a good resale value on ebay!! You can get some of your money back afterwards!

Just about to buy one of these. Is the general consensus that the EZ 2 Nurse pillow is the best one?

Before you buy an expensive pillow you might want to check with yout friend if she plans to BF. I bought a lot of expensive stuff (pump, creams, shields, pillow) and every thing went to another mother.

We've used both the foam and the inflatable EZ2 Nurse as well as a bean filled ordinary one. Unreservedly the foam EZ2 Nurse is the one I'd recommend. The inflatable was unyieldy and burst after a few months, which was lucky coz then we bought the foam one second hand and used it and used it (I'm embarrased to say my girls were nearly 3 when they weaned fully and were still using it.).

The polystyrene filled one was good to put behind my back as I nursed, but not to tandem nurse with.

I always used a V shaped pillow. One of the problems with the inflatable pillows is that it can make the babies too high for feeding. Also, several of my clients have complained that they don't fit larger ladies as well.

I have seen a lovely beanbag type that allows the babies to sink into them whilst supporting them. This keeps them from being too high. Mostly the pillows are to help the mum support two at once and in that are a very good idea.

I have an inflatable EZ2Nurse and I love it - it's great for feeding the babies singly as well as being the only way I can imagine feeding them together (although I'm just a novice yet).

I started with a foam v-pillow to tandem feed, but found as the babies got a bit bigger and heavier their shuffling resulted in it sliding away from under them a bit. I then switched to the Sissel beanbag v-shaped nursing pillow and continued using this successfully until they were 16 months old. Its now a very handy back support for when I'm watching TV! I'd definitely recommend a beanbag one if you're going for the long haul.

Another vote for the Eze2Nurse foam pillow. Foam better than inflatable IMO as is more comfortable and doesn't burst/go saggy. Can also be used for bottle feeding both together and/or for feeding just one if they lie across the front.

I have fed my twins on it every single day since birth (now 6 months) and it was worth every penny! Oh and I got it second hand via our twins club - so was only £20. Without question the best £20 I have ever spent.
