Concerned about my 7 year old B/B twins...

They have always been in the same class and group (sitting at same table) in every class they have been in. They are now in Year 3 and the not so confident twin is really struggling since him and his brother have been seperated in class

He keeps crying and saying he can't do the work...i never thought seperation would be a problem.

Obviously in the long run it is for the best..as they will definatley be split at secondary school. The other twin is ok but has started being a bit naughty in class..i wonder if that the way he is just dealing with it??

Just wondering if anyone else has been through this?? and what helped??

They share a bedroom with one of their older brothers.....i was thinking that perhaps i should move one twin out to share with other brothers??? not sure if this would make it worse or actually help???

i would ask for them to be put back together.

obviously you need to work on the issue as they'll be separated eventually. but there is a big difference (imo) between a 7 yr old and a 10/11 yr old, so there is plenty of time

right now it sounds like they need each other.

My twins where split in reception class i didnt like the thought of the idea but it has turned out great both girls have there own identities & friends & have become more independant.Its a shame they have split your 2 now as they have become to dependant of each other. They should of been split at an earlier age like mine or not at all.

They are at a one class per year school...and have always been the same academically so have always been sitting together. They were already confident twin/not so confident twin from birth!!!

Feel very sad for them, i will go in at 3 and see their teacher about it and ask for them to be together again.

I am hoping it will be different for my B/G twins when they start school.....different friends etc? But will now ask for them to be seperated when starting school...i don't care how much of an inconvienince it will be!!! sorry bad spellig.

Oh, it is so hard sometimes parenting twins. Mine are in year 1, the same set up as your school. They also usually split them in year 3. I have been told mine do separate well so I hope I dont have the same problem in 2 years time.What did the teacher say about it?

Didn't get to see her as she was busy yesterday...have talked to the boys again about it..and it turns out they do sometimes now sit together..in September it wasn't at all, i guess as they learn they can get moved around...so for certain subjects they are together.....

confident twin said that other twin still crys even if he is next to him.......wondering now if it's more like he dosen't like school work!!!

He is a lot slower than my other children at doing things...eating, getting dressed, brushing teeth,reading, writing etc...he can do it all perfectly..he just takes his time, he did tell me that his teacher says and does things too fast for him and he gets worried about it.

That wouldn't mean that ther is anything wrong with him though would it?? It's just him.

Oh the joys!!!

Could it be he doesnt get on with the teacher perhaps?
