icandy pear - anyone got one/know what it's like?

I've just seen a new tandem double pushchair called the icandy pear. With twins due in april I'm trying to find the best thing for them. Had originally liked the nipper 360 but think the folding is hard work, don't like that the seat doesn't sit fully upright for DS and I'm still not really sold on the side by side thing getting through doors etc.

I had a quinny buzz with my DS and liked the fact you can clip a maxi cosi car seat direct to the chassis. We live in a small village so nearly every journey out starts with the car. We also have a dog so it needs to be sturdy enough to go over wet/muddy ground.

The pear seems to cover all options, proper seat for DS, carseat/carrycot for twins and with the single jogger wheel (sold for the apple and you wont find a retailer which will sell you one if you tell them you want it for the pear!!!) I think it might work cross country. Does anyone know any different? Is it heavy/hard to push when there are actually children in it? I've already heard that the carrycots are v small so, I don't think we'll get those (and at £70 each it'll save a few more pennies)

It's a shame you can't test drive buggies for a weekend!

This was one of the buggies on our short list as am expecting twins in Feb/Mar. We narrowed it down to the Icandy pear or the Leebruss Zoom. We went for the Zoom in the end. I loved the compactness of the icandy but after looking at various posts from people and seeing it in person, the lack of space did concern me looked like it would only do the twins up to 18mths-2yrs as the seats were soooo small(& the carrycots too). I'd be wary about putting a jogging wheel on it as don't think it would balance properly, too much weight at the front, so would be prone to tipping over! It seems to be one of those buggies you either love or hate!! It would be great if you could test drive it as its such a hard decision to make isn't it, It would be horrible to spend all that money and get it wrong. Good luck with your choice

It's heavy, and if you think the Nipper is tough to fold, then the Par definately is not for you.

The seats are tiny, and if you are short you won't be able to see the second twin at all. And my God, it's heavy. Heavy, heavy, heavy.

I have the iCandy Pear 12 months and we swear by it. I do not think it heavy at all considering its for my two children. When we go walking (which we do a lot of) and I to go up a path, I simply move the handle bar out and then Pear easily glides up the path. I have to take the seat untis off to fold it and it is very easily lifted in to the boot of my small Ford Ka. All of it actually fits in there too which did surprise me. I think its because one seat unit fits inside the other and the little frame folds in on itself that makes it so compact.

I got my Pear with bigger hoods as I was also concerned about the head height. The retailer I went to had the smaller one on display but told me they all come with the bigger Apple hoods and put on the seat units for me and there is a marked difference in the hood height. He said they all come with bigger hoods now anyway but had not got round to change his display model yet.

I did have a look at the Zoom too but I was concerned about the length. Its a bit of a truck. My first child would be in the middle of the road before I even got a chance to look for traffic.

The Pear is the one for me.
