Had twins 3 days ago: breast feeding and constipation questions!

I had twin girls on Thursday afternoon. Feeling a bit worried as my milk still hasn’t come in yet. How long did it take for yours? I’m trying to do lots of skin to skin and drink lots of fluid. Time for some more colostrum harvesting, have also given formula as both are HUNGRY! While trying not to get upset or stressed

I’m constipated and haven’t been since before the birth. It was a c section so l know that won’t have helped. Plus all of the pain relief l have used. Continue with the Lactulose and fluids l assume?

Hey! I can't remember exactly how long it took as my twins are three now but just to say I mix fed and pumped and nursed and just did whatever to get them fed and managed to give them breast milk until they were 6 months old so just take it a day at a time you've got this! Also if bfing doesn't work out that's ok too!

Also if they take a bottle then dump them on a relative and go get some sleep xx

Yeh and pooing takes a while after a c section. Try to eat lots of fruit and cereal xx

Prunes for constipation. Take 6-8 a day while you get going, then drop it down to 3-4 a day.
Have a glass of water every time you feed, and then have tea etc on top.

Go for Movicol instead of lactulose

For the constipation, LOADS of lactulose. Keep taking it. LOADS of water.

I would recommend the ‘breastfeeding twins and triplets’ facebook group and/ or follow kathryn stagg on instagram. The best advice I got to help establish supply was topless tv tuesday.

How are you be on now, OP? hope you're all healed up from section. I hated the post-section constipation. Honestly, the discomfort was worse than childbirth!
