I have twin boys who are nearly 2 1/2. They have never been good sleepers and between the two of them we rarely get a night without wake ups.
They are confident little boys during the day time and will mostly go to sleep by themselves at nap time (still napping 1.5 - 2 hours), however, are a nightmare to get to sleep at bedtime, often screaming in their cots and wanting to be cuddled to sleep. They take forever to go to sleep. They are getting too big for this now and a cuddle is not helping them to get to sleep any sooner.
We have tried reducing the nap but this just gives us overtired and grumpy toddlers and makes no difference at bedtime, often causing them to scream even more!
They are still in cots and I am thinking of taking the sides off so that I can sit in between and have contact with them both to try and encourage them to go to sleep in their cots. I am also terrified that I am going to unleash even more chaos at bedtime!
It would be great to hear other people's experiences and any advice would be really welcome.
