2 yolk sacs 1 fetal pole early scan! Help!

Hi all. New to mumsnet..

I had an early scan at 6weeks 2 days due to some cramping and bleeding but it was too early to see a heartbeat.

Rescan 1 week later at 7weeks 2 days heartbeat seen it was amazing!!! They also found a second yolk sac that had developed but only one fetal pole.. could there be a hidden twin? I know one twin can sometimes measure behind and hide just wondering if anyone has similar experiences? I’m prepared for vanishing twin syndrome and for there to only be one at 12 weeks.

So excited for one healthy peanut never mind two!

Hi @Beau2020 Thankyou so much wishing you a healthy 9 months so sorry for the loss you found today! How far along are you? I’m so worried there won’t be 2 as it’s so common and twins don’t run in mine or DH family.

One baby is measuring 9+2 weeks and the other was 2 weeks behind. We knew it might have been bad news but it's never easy to hear 🙁 but we always kept hope!

I also keep googling hidden twin thinking it might be hidden somewhere! Make sure to keep us updated XX

I am exactly the same I can’t keep off google as my midwife didn’t seem hopeful due to the fetal pole measuring over 1cm and only one being visible. I just keep telling myself the yolk sac had grown in that week and there could be a chance it’s hiding and a few days behind. I’ve got everything crossed! Thankyou I will do!

At 6 weeks everything can change! My 6 week scan showed 1 baby then at 8 weeks there was 2 xx

That’s what my 7week scan showed but the second yolk sac had appeared I was so shocked but midwife was sceptical! I’m 8 weeks now but I don’t have a scan til 12 weeks!

I had the same - now have one healthy baby from that pregnancy. The other sac vanished.

I have the same thing and have found little to no information!!
I just had my first scan, 6w6d and they found our cute bubba with a heart beating away measuring 6w3d.... then another yolk sac!! But measuring 5w5d... no heart beat as yet, the lady scanning me said that its normal with identical twins that ones a little behind and to come back in 2 weeks! There is no info I can really find, its all on feternal twins and it's playing on my mind. She also said the disappearing twin syndrome, so im prepared for that.
We have been praying for the health of our one little angel, now maybe two!!

I had a hidden twin. I had horrendous bleeding at about week 7-9, got scanned at week 9, found a healthy baby with a heartbeat. No sign of a second baby at all. Told to come back 2 weeks later, so 11 weeks and at that scan they found two.

So my last period was 4/11/2022 I’ve went to the dr Wednesday no heart beat went to the hospital they said no heart beat I’ve got 3 different due dates they said they seen two yolk sacs 1 fetal pole labeled as threatened miscarriage no bleeding or anything my levels have went from 20,000 down to 18,000 could it be possible I’m losing 1 baby I have no answers this is my 3 pregnancy no problems with my first 2
