How old is he?

ChasingSquirrels · 01/05/2007 23:11

how old? i would put him in a bed, once they can climb out it is dangerous.

Wotzsaname · 01/05/2007 23:14

I know my mum used to use the walking reins cliped on to side of cot for my sister when she was tiny, but I don't think that is PC 40 years later!

What does he want to get out for? If you let him, get on with it where foes he go?

LynetteScavo · 01/05/2007 23:14

It is standard practice to lower the side of the cot once a child is able to climb out. Would he also be able to climb over a stair gate on the bedreeom door?

How old is he? I would like to know

dolly1972 · 01/05/2007 23:17

he will be 2 on the 18th of this month
my twins are in the same room as my other 2 boys 9 + 6 and i guess im a bit worried about them wrecking the room!
i have thought about getting another set of bunk beds and having the eldest 2 on the top bunks.....
oh i dont know....it just seems easier if they stay in their cots!!!
ha ha

well they can't stay in the cots forever...

dolly1972 · 01/05/2007 23:19

I'd put him in a bed. My dd2 did this and once she'd figured out how to scale the cot she also figured out how to scale the stair gate.
she went into a bed quite happily, I think that was what she really wanted so she could be big like her sister.

Sounds like you have a bit of a crowded house. Can you just take one side of the cot of for now. I think this is a pretty normal age for escaping the cot.

dolly1972 · 01/05/2007 23:29

thanks ladies...i just spoke to my hubby and i think we have to make the bedroom MORE child friendly!
i will probably take the sides off the cots for now and save up to get another set of bunk beds.

you know i guessed i would have to do this but you know when you need someone else to tell you to do it...otherwise you would never get round to it!
so thanks again ladies
we will be busy this weekend!!

can't you add 2 foot to it?

dolly1972 · 01/05/2007 23:31

and yes lynette...we are crowded but the lovely council wont move us!!!!!!!
the only way we would be moved now is if we were to have more babies or one (or maybe more) of us were to develope a medical illness!
nice eh!

Have another baby-LOL!

Twinmummyx2 · 02/05/2007 17:58

Goodness-thats not a very nice council!!! So you have 4 in one room??? Here that would be classed as MAJOR over-crowding!

I put mine into beds when they started doing that....they probably will wreck the room ....but you could put baby gate on the bedroom door so at least the rest of the house wouldn't be wrecked??

Twinmummyx2 · 02/05/2007 18:00

be careful with the bunk beds though.....we have 2 sets in our house and my two (2.6) are forever trying to climb them and jump off ....i will say they have the sense to put all the beanbags in a row for crash mats.....but still

dolly1972 · 02/05/2007 19:52

indeed it is major overcrowding but they dont seem to care..... still i have managed to get someone from the council to come over and see how we are living, just need to arrange a time now.
one of my friends was actually told that the council have an obligation to house the people coming into our country before us!

i....am....not....a....happy....bunny!!!!!

Definately keep on at them....make sure they don't forget you...hassle, hassle, hassle..give them loads!!!

dolly1972 · 02/05/2007 19:58

oh i will!
i going to make my place look as cluttered and small as possible!
wont have to try too hard.
