Hi, am due twins the end of April. Just wondering when you all went on maternity leave? I'm clueless!

I finished at 30 weeks (a physical job with long hours). Babies were born 4 weeks later.

Toomanypackingboxes · 01/10/2017 03:09

I finished at 33 weeks, they were born just before 37. I had a mostly desk job.

RandomUsernameHere · 01/10/2017 07:00

30 weeks, but in hindsight I could have gone on a bit longer. They were born just before 37.

moggle · 01/10/2017 13:15

I'm hoping to last til 34 weeks in my desk job. it's only part time and I have a 3yo DD, so maternity leave this time means two days a week to myself and still 3 looking after DD which means it won't be a big rest :-(

doodlejump1980 · 01/10/2017 13:17

Went on mat leave at 33 weeks, had babies at 37+6

Ohhshiney · 01/10/2017 20:18

dangle90 · 02/10/2017 17:14

I'm due to go on mat leave at 31 weeks. Got a physical job though I'm 26 weeks now and struggling more and more everyday

BrassicaBabe · 02/10/2017 17:34

I planned to do at 38 weeks (hahahahaha). I was knackered and gave in at about 32 weeks. DTS came early at 34 weeks.

HettySunshine · 03/10/2017 11:46

I finished work earlier than I had planned at 32 weeks as I was so uncomfortable.

Babies arrived in a hurry at 33+3. If I had finished when I planned I would have finished work on the Friday and they would have been born the following Monday!

My advice is listen to your body. It will tell you when it’s time to stop.

HettySunshine · 03/10/2017 11:47

Oh and I have a moderately active desk job.

gruffalocake2 · 03/10/2017 11:51

I am finishing day before 34weeks at a mostly desk job, 31 weeks currently. I think finishing at 32 weeks would be ideal as you are bigger and under more stress than a singleton pregnancy, I'm finding All the unpleasant end of pregnancy stuff just kicks in earlier. It is manageable though,

chocolateshortcake · 03/10/2017 12:13

I'm finishing at 33 weeks. Currently 26 weeks and can't wait. I've got a toddler too so hoping for some quality time with him before babies come.

chocolateshortcake · 03/10/2017 12:18

Oh my job is pretty high stress too.

Cadenza1818 · 05/10/2017 12:41

30 weeks. Born 36+6 days!

chuntersalot · 05/10/2017 12:53

Finished at 28 weeks - it was Christmas Eve so officially started ML on the first day back of the New Year. They arrived at 32 weeks.

thenightmanageress · 05/10/2017 13:00

Moderately active desk job here

I worked to 33 weeks, had a midwife appt on my last afternoon & was admitted to hospital there and then with pre-eclampsia.

Twins born at 35 weeks after 2 weeks on bed rest.

I still feel cheated I didn't get a decent break at home to 'nest' before they arrived!

Landy10 · 05/10/2017 19:56

Was planning to work till 33 weeks but then a family wedding got planned when for the weekend after I was 32 weeks so decided I would stop just before this wedding at 32 weeks. Babies born by section at 37+4. Was really glad I stopped when I did don't think I could have done much more.

That was a desk job but the journey involves walking, train and tube so unpleasant.

MamaDeeGee · 06/10/2017 20:38

I went on at 29 weeks and twins were born 37+5

MamaDeeGee · 06/10/2017 20:39

I did both physical job and desk job ( office admin and worked in a cafe)

mrshansolo · 17/10/2017 09:38

I went on mat leave at 35 weeks and went into labour on the second day of mat leave! I am a teacher so a moderately active job. I wish I'd gone a bit earlier to relax more before the babies arrived.

salsasalsa · 18/10/2017 11:46

I'm 28+4 with MCDA twins, and leaving on 32 week mark.
I'm really starting to struggle now so I'm glad I chose a date, I was planning on trying to last as long as poss.
I work mon - fri 9-5 hours mostly on my feet and its a killer.
Pressure everywhere, legs are sore and swollen come lunch time and my feet are throbbing when I get home for hours, and my bump goes all hard and uncomfortable after working hard/being on my feet too long lol. x

NW10teacher · 26/10/2017 11:54

Mrshansolo I'm a teacher too and I was planning to work until 35 weeks (which would be 24 November). I'm slightly starting to regret that now because I'm exhausted!

Myview2 · 26/10/2017 11:59

Hi, I finished up at 32 weeks. I had an office job, nothing strenuous and had thought I would continue on to 38 weeks until the consultant informed me they would induce me at 37 weeks. My twins were born at 34 +5 so what did I know?!

Bungleboggs · 26/10/2017 12:06

I went into labour at 30 weeks whilst at work! So straight away.

Potplant · 26/10/2017 12:15

I'd planned till 34wk but only got to 31. I was absolutely exhausted the whole time (an hours commute). The tipping point came when I was driving home and had to stop halfway because I had a migraine and felt like I was going to pass out.
Babies came At 34 weeks in any case.
