So 12 week scan this afternoon. Had imagined scenarios of no heart beat (previous MMC, bleeding last week) and healthy baby. Was most shocked when the trainee sonographer told us there were 3!!! So it looks like they are DCTA but difficult to be 100% sure on scan today. Saw consultant who has been through all our options with us. Would love to hear of others' experiences and journeys if you are happy to share xx

Wow, that's so amazing! What a complete blessing you have! Congratulations. I can imagine it's a huge shock though. I have two sets of twins but no triplets! I hope you can connect with others in your situ. But just wanted to say, wow and congrats big time!

Amazing news! I have twins and would recommend getting in touch with TAMBA (Twins and Multiple Birth Association) - they have masses of information and support and can put you in touch with other parents in a similar position.

Bump. I would really love to hear from anyone who has experienced the choices offered in a triplet pregnancy. Feel free to PM me if that's easier.

Hey MummySara, my big twins are 2 and a half and my babies are 4 months. Also have a 4 year old. I use an out n about with buggyboard. Big twins stand or one sits on the front.

So sorry you read you lost a baby. How far are you with your pregnancy?

sidonie1 · 07/03/2017 14:38

Here's the pushchair with both on buggyboard

A colleague of mine had triplets and she was on Birth Centre (UK) - there is a forum there for mums of multiples. Might be worth reaching out on that forum.

Congratulations BTW x

grainmum · 07/03/2017 17:35

mummysara I am petrified. I don't know if you went through the process of discussing "options" or if it was clear at 10w that the outcome would be twins? Really struggling with the choices presented to us.

I had a similar experience almost exactly two years to the day - discovered triplets at the 13 week scan (with a toddler too). Feel free to PM me. I was in shock for at least a month. We now have 3 gorgeous girls but I know exactly how you're feeling. I would also suggest you get in contact with TAMBA and your local Twins/Multiples club - both were fab for me. Good luck x

Hi all, i had my 12week scan yesterday. Im measuring 8days bigger so due date pushed to 11sept. I was petrified. I had a panick attack which started pretty much as soon as I stepped into the hospital. I burst into tears when she said they both have s heart beat. Though she did not let me hear it! Sonographer was abit cold and it was a case of shit she has twins, im only booked for a session need to be quick. Thats how it felt. But! It has calmed me down at least for a few weeks Grin

MummySara · 08/03/2017 05:00

Thanks for sharing Sidonie. I had a twin preg but sadly it ended in oct 2012. Had they survived they would have been 4 this year. So you are blessed. I have a 3yr boy. Dont know how he will take to babies. He is quiet clingy and possesive. So trying to hold other babies to wèen him in.

MummySara · 08/03/2017 05:09

Grain mum, i was not given options. Scan at 10w was private reassurance scan as i just felt like crap. And thought something is not right. Was told my body would just absorb the third scan and it would have hone by 12w scan. Had my 12week scan and pretty much was an in out appt. Im guessing options will come later at midwife appts. Read the NICE guildlines hospitals follow. Might help in knowing the care you will get. I think multiples will be givem same options. You might be asked to take aspirin. Twins are consideree full term at 38w? Triplets i think earlier. You will be classed as high risk which just means more scans and monitoring.

grainmum · 08/03/2017 10:26

Thanks mummysara and runandbecome. mummysara glad your scan went well yesterday. I think you will be seen in a specific multiples antenatal clinic with extra monitoring. runandbecome thank you for your kind offer I may well PM you when I get some quiet time and can construct something meaningful!

Hi all, I just discovered that I am expecting triplets! I am in shock... could you please advise which hospitals south-west London have best obstetrician for multiple pregnancies ? I am a bit lost and if anyone has any recommendations - please please let me know. Many thanks

Runandbecome · 27/08/2017 20:12

Hi there - I have triplets and had all my scans with Guy Thorpe-Beeston at Chelsea & Westminster. He is the Royal Obstetrician but is also a multiples specialist on NHS at C&W - he was very reassuring and calm. My other consultant there was Dr Mina Savvidou - also very helpful. Feel free to PM me if you have questions x

Guess what I have by my username! I have triplets, Rebecca, Thomas and James, born at 32 weeks and 2 months before m 46th birthday. Our first son died in 1994, he was 14 . We decided to try ivf and on our 3rd attempt had our trio. They are now 19 and are amazing and have given us a new life. I was not offered any choices, I wouldn't have taken them anyway after losing Matthew. I was so well looked after throughout my pregnancy, weekly scans from week 24 and finally delivered at 32 weeks as baby number 3 was slowing down in growth. Good luck, enjoy every minute as we did and still do!

Another Mum of triplets here .Mine are now 18 . I was offered selective reduction but couldn't contemplate it myself .They were almost identical weights 3lb 11 oz at 33 weeks and left hospital at 37 weeks . They have an older sibling 26 months older . It is fun / exhausting and sometimes lonely but ultimately fabulous .
