How do you bottle feed newborn twins?

The title is a bit simplistic, obviously. I've got eight week old twin boys. I'm struggling at feeding times during the day when I'm on my own because I can't seem to keep everyone happy. I inevitably have one crying furiously while I'm trying to feed and wind the other, and then vice versa. They are quite slow and messy eaters, so feeding often takes more than an hour between the two of them during the day: an hour of them crying frantically, scratching at me, being a bit sick, etc. I absolutely hate it and feel like there must be a better way. I also worry that their brains won't develop properly because their needs aren't being met. They're due a feed in thirty minutes and I'm dreading it! Any tips?

Please don't go off on a guiltfest. Tonight we are celebrating our twin daughters birthday. They turned up five weeks early, and dtd2 came out feet first just to make life extra complicated.

yy it was supercomplicated feeding them and all that shite the first four or five months, but looking through previous posts you've been given all the essential information already.

Oh, and the birthday is 17th. They're both doing well in an highly academic Lower Sixth and are looking forward to driving lessons, vouchers to which have been the main part of their presents from the Aunts and the Grannies.

Start feeding one half an hour before you know that they're due a feed, then you'll have one done by the time the other starts wailing for their bottle! We found that one twin was better/ took his feed quicker/ burped better/wasn't sick so we always did him first.

A revelation for me was learning to burp them lying face down across my legs. That way I could feed and burp both simultaneously. I know it looks wrong but trust me they don't mind it and it really worked for me! Preferred feeding position was on bouncy chairs or facing me propped up slightly on a large cushion. Good luck. sure you'll crack it! X
