When was your birth planned for, and when did it happen?

Hi,

As the title really. I'm now 16 weeks with DCDA twins. My doctor has said that, all being well, I will be booked in for a c-section at 37-38 weeks, but no later. I realise that if things change or problems arise that that may not happen. I was just wondering what plans others were given, and if that's actually what happened, or were dates brought forward and babies came earlier?

I was booked in for c section at 35 weeks - MCDA and we had TTTS so was always going to be early. In the end emergency section at 31+3.

I'm 35w4d with DCDA twins and no plan for either section or induction. If I go into labour naturally over the next week, they will assess at that point whether I can continue to labour naturally or go straight to section. I'm hoping to get a Plan B for if that doesn't happen when I meet the consultant next week.

My previous trust would have given me a date at my 32 week scan appointment for a planned induction or section to occur in the 37th week.

The couple who came to talk to our antenatal day had their heart set on the planned section they had a date for but she went into labour naturally two weeks early and ended up giving birth vaginally to both.

I am 14 weeks and have already been told that, all being well, I will be induced between week 37-38 if I've not gone into labour naturally before this time.
As much as I want them to be fully cooked, I would quite like to go into labour naturally this time as I was induced with DS and I'd like to have the experience of everything going well...I know I'm probably getting my hopes up!

I started my induction at 38+2 and had my twins the next day. They wanted to induce at 38 weeks but it was my eldest's birthday at 38+1 so I refused until afterwards

Twin 1 was cephalic, twin 2 footling breech.

Sounds like 37-38 as a plan is about normal. I just have to hope I don't go into labour any earlier. Due to medical history I've been strongly advised to go for a section by the doctor, which is what I wanted anyway.

I was induced at 37 weeks and had both naturally. A C-section was discussed if Twin 1 wasn't head down but it didn't come to that.

I had emcs at 33, waters went, labour started, twin 1 breach.

Planned for 36+6
Labour and delivery 34+ 4

Planned elective section for 37+5. Waters broke at home at 36+7 and went into in hospital in early labour so sectioned shortly after. DCDA and both cephalic. Amazing experience.

Planned for 38 weeks came at 34 weeks, we were in hospital for a month

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a fair few babies came before the plan, so I suppose I have to be prepared for that. Assume EMCS would be performed -if time permitted obviously. I didn't go into labour with my first, despite all the interventions possible, so I'm hoping things wouldn't move really fast this time either.

Induction booked for 38+0. Babies delivered by emcs at 34+5 as both were transverse. My waters went at 34+4

Induction at just after 37 weeks, three times and still nothing. Then they tried to break my waters at just over 38 weeks, third time lucky. At 38+2 DTD1 was helped out by ventouse and DTD2 via C-section 55 minutes later. Maybe they were comfortable where they were?

Induced just before 38 weeks with MCDA twins. I was surprised as thought they'd come early!

Wanted to go naturally, got TTTS, would have had a section at 32 weeks.

We were lucky, the TTTS resolved itself and I was induced and had them at 36 weeks. That was due to pre eclampsia.
