Buggy solution for toddler twins and a newborn?

Our twins will be 25 months when our new baby is due, and I'm trying to work out what the best solution will be for getting out and about. We currently have a bugaboo donkey, which is a beast to get down our stairs but then a dream to push and maneuver once we're out, so would like to keep it if possible.

Does anyone have a buggy board for their double? Will just a board work at this age for one of the older girls or is it best to have one of those easy rider seat things? Should we ditch the double altogether and get a triple instead like the ABC?

Thoughts and experiences welcome!

I have an out and about nipper double. It's easy to push and it holds two in the seats and one sitting on the large footrest.

I have also often used a baby carrier (manducca) which has been a god send when out and about.

My twins will be 2.5 when new baby arrives. I also have a donkey and have seen them used with a buggy board. Do you have a car that you could keep the buggy in? Might make the process a bit smoother. Also I intend to stick the baby in a sling as much as possible, just so it's out of the way. Can always recline the seats and stick him in the buggy for a few mins at a time if I need two hands.

I do find that at just over 2 my twins are much more robust and able to walk further than before, partic as the weather improves so personally I wouldn't bother with a triple with that age gap.

DTS (26 months) is also a demon scooter so I think that will get taken more and more, with the buggy board for him when he needs a break. DTD is less keen little madam

Justastorm we also have Manducas and toddler Connecta carriers, so I'm certainly planning on wearing at least one child for quick jaunts.

Button good point about walking and scooting, hopefully they'll be better than they are now at 19 months. They've been walking since 9 months, so not a physical problem, but they just get so distracted when walking that it's like herding cats getting them both to go the same, correct direction for more than 30 seconds! Strong willed phase is just starting, ala "I'll lay down on the pavement and scream if you don't let me stop for 5 minutes to inspect this rock." Confused

I had out n about double. I wrapped baby with moby wrap. For six months I carried him and put twins in buggy. Then I had one baby, one toddler in buggy and rotated toddler. Couldn't have coped without wrap..so much easier than standard carriers x

I have a 23 month old and ten week twins. We looked at an Abc but decided on a baby jogger double. Either my toddler goes on the buggy board or when she needs to sleep I carry one of my twins in an ergo. I love the flexibility and the twin that is being carried is always happy! I've done some fairly decent walks and the Ergo makes it easy to carry for a long time.

The Abc was just too big, heavy and impractical for us.

Good luck and congratulations

Nipper and baby carriers here. You can push one handed and all three can sit on it when bigger.
