What age did your twins sleep seperately and switch from cot to bed?

My ID boys are 23 months old and show no signs of wanting to sleep seperately. I do not mind at all as they're both in sync with their nightly routines and it's no hardship. They share a cot and sleep side by side huddled together.

Just curious as when other twins decided to have their own space, and when did you know they were ready for a bed/s?

After the first night of all 4 of us still awake at 4.30am we split them up. One bedroom me and ds, other bedroom dh and dd. Dd was the better sleeper so he got more sleep than me ready for work the next day.

They went from cot to bed at 2.5.

Mine are 22 months and are still in cots, no plans to move them. I separate them at night but they still have their afternoon nap huddled together.

3/4 months. They are not very cuddly with each other!

My two shared a cot bed until about four months. They had feet at either end and started banging heads. We took the sides off their separate cot beds at 2y2 months when DD could climb out. They stopped napping at this stage, although carried on at nursery. They shared a room until they were four. They very brightly informed their teacher on the first day at school that they had their own rooms now becaus they had been fighting. Very true!

My girl twin went into a toddler bed at three and my boy twin is still in cot as he has learning difficulties and they have been in seperate cots since day one but sleep in the same room as each other it all depends really on yourselfs

Our two have slept separately since coming home from hospital, they were pretty big for twins so there wasn't lots of room and my DS is a really restless sleeper and would disturb DD. Cots always right next to each other though. We moved them into their own room (still together) at 7 months.

We moved them into beds at 22months as I had an escape artist and he was at risk of hurting himself climbing out.

Do what ever works best for your DCs though - there's no 'right' answer.
