Reins for just walking twins - Kool Kangaroos?

I was wondering if anyone has used reins for twins who have just started walking. There are a couple of classes we are just starting to go to where it isn't possible to get them inside in a pushchair and have to get out of the car in a road, so was thinking of using reins in these situations. Previous threads I've read complain about them tangling so being useless. It's more for getting them out of the car safely really, because we would always be holding hands when walking. I can't do the standing one twin in the footwell tactic because they have isofix car seats so there isn't anywhere to stand except at my feet. I was thinking of trying these:

No we used little life backpacks. The handle is pretty wide, I just slide it up my arm so my hands are free.
The "lead" bit is not very long though so might not be that much help.
We often put them on one of the front seats if getting out is a bit tricky.

I used these for when my older dc where younger, and I still use one for dd, and I'll use them when the dts are older.

I just used two sets of ordinary reins. Kinda think that as soon as manufacturers put the word 'twin' in front of the name of the product, they think they can charge double!

Luckily mine were a baby shower gift during 2nd PG, thank God. I looked up the price on most and they're ridiculous!

Just seconding the back packs - my 2 have used them for nearly a year now since starting to walk at 13/14 months and love them
I like that you can put a couple of nappies/ wipes/ snack/ drink in them you can also unclip the "leads" when you're somewhere that they can't escape from!

While, I'm here which of the backpack ones have the rein at the top? I'm wanting one for when dd goes to DG after creche, much easier then leaving a backpack with the assistant. Never really looked in to before.

I have the little life's. Its not easy! I try putting the reins on in the car, put one in the drivers seat to play with the steering wheel then hoik them out. There have been lots of tangles and the odd bumped head though.

We have the little life backpacks but are about to get a twin walkodile for when I'm out with them by myself. Other twin parents have told me the walkodile is great. www.walkodile.com/product/132/walkodile_duo/

I was given twin reins but we managed to lose one on a plane so while on holiday had to buy more. We went for the SkipHop backpack reins (mostly due to it being an owl like dd1s lunch box). They love putting them on (20mo) and I put eat one round my wrist and hold their hands. I planned to get a couple of those climbing clip things from the outdoor shop so I can clip the reins to me but to be honest I don't think I need to.
