Virus or bacterial infection - which spreads more easily?

Grateful for any advice - though appreciate this may not be the best spot!

My DTG has been suffering with green muscusy (sp?) poo for a week now. Fine in herself and putting on weight and lots of wet nappies so have been told to monitor it for a few more days before we worry about stool samples/further investigations.

Usually DTB just does one poo a day but I've have four so far today and they are now getting muscusy too.

I'm just wondering if DTB is suffering too this means it's more likely to be a virus? I guess this would reassure me as I'd then I'd know we just need to ride it out. Or would a bacterial infection spread pretty easily too?

DTs are 20 weeks. Thank you!

I'd say probably viral, but I'm no health expert. If you're worried, get proper medical advice.

Thanks Madlizzy and didn't mean to sound like I was neglectful of them - we've been at the Drs this morning and the advice was to keep monitoring and see how DTG is by the weekend.

I was just covering myself. lol. I've got triplets and they used to pass viruses back and forth to each other.

TBH it depends on the bacteria. Some spread easier than others. Some from touch or ingestion where as some can be spread through the air.

Viruses do tend to clear up quicker but either virus or bacteria the gut will do it's best to get rid of it, hence the number of poos.
