Is it posdible to fly on my own with twins.

Im considering flying to Dubai with my 5 mth old twins. Has anybody flown on their own with 2 babies?

Check the airline rules. Normally you're only allowed one infant per adult although you could buy a seat for the second infant for a child's fare.

As far as I know you can't. You need one adult per infant.

You're very brave to consider it though!!

Unfortunately it's not likely. Only one 'lap', baby per row due to number of oxygen masks that would deploy if needed. You may possibly be allowed to purchase another seat which a carry car seat could be put on, so one baby in that and one on lap but I'm thinking most airlines would say no.

Yes you can. You need to purchase a seat for at least one baby though as its to do with there only being 4 oxygen masks per row of 3 for example.

Some let baby stay in a car seat , some you need to pre arrange for an air hostess to sit with you for take off and landing.

yes I have done this but with 12 month olds - you have to buy two seats and I seem to remember bringing a car seat (was I mad?) - GOOD LUCK

You need to check the airline rules.
Virgin wouldn't have let us with one adult and 2 kids under 2, as even tho we had a seat for 18 months old, he had to sit on an adult lap for take off and landing.
You'll need to ring the airlines, and talk to them - or find an excelent travel agent.

Definitely not with BA. One child per adult under 2 years old. As per pp. They have to sit on your lap for take off, and landing. Think it may be a CAA ruling rather than by an airline.

well in that case, did I imagine flying to Italy with my 12month old twins? oooh no...it was all a horrible dream!!!

At least they're not mobile. I would consider it with unmobile babies.

I twitched with horror reading the thread title thinking they'd be toddlers.

Some airlines will let you but you'll need a car seat approved for use in a plane or someone to sit with you for take-off/landing. I wouldn't do it though!

Even if airline allowed it, you might struggle at security when you have to fold the buggy and put in scanner whilst holding the babies and all hand baggage etc, unless some kind stranger or staff member helps you.

Like many have said I think it depends on the airline. I flew from New Zealand to the UK alone when my twins were 9 mths old and my son was 2. I had to buy an extra seat and take a car seat. It was difficult, the 4 of us were squished into three seats and one of my arms is paralysed. It wasn't the easiest day of my life! But it's only a day. I was travelling home to see my parents so wild horses wouldn't have stopped me. I flew with Air NZ and the booking staff were dire but the onboard team were amazing.
