The kindness/ reticence of strangers

Sometimes strangers will step in and help out when I am juggling DD1 and the twins, but sometimes, say at a music class, I just get a vibe from people: Don't burden me with any of your offspring, I want to give all my undivided attention to my little darling. It's not that I want them to help if one of the babies wanders their way while I am tied up with the others, but a smile and a friendly word makes such a difference. Does anyone know what I am talking about, or am I paranoid?

I know what you mean, only at twin playgroup will people offer a hand and that's because they know what it's like when they both start crying at once.

I have found the class teachers tend to help out usually. Or I used to take a bouncy chair and asking before my two were old enough to sit up alone
