When did your twins sit unaided?

My girls have just turned 7 months and aren't sitting unaided yet, they do have good back muscles.

Is it true twins can be a little behind?

Hi Katy, they could sit for maybe 2 minutes at 6 months but would always flop back/forward onto cushions. Only in the last week or so have I felt confident to leave them without cushions and they are 8 1/2 months.

DTD didn't roll until 7.5 months but she rolls everywhere now

I think my DTs are maybe 4 weeks behind their singleton peers?

My 2 were 10 weeks early so will be a bit different and I am a bit to say I cant really remember. It was around 9 months ish. My HV said they would not worry untill they 9 months corrected age.

Honestly dont worry 7 months is still a bit young and if they were born early it could have an impact on development. I am pretty sure that is why twins sometimes do things later than their singleton peers.

They are so funny I sit them up and they just fold :)

Do you remember TFI on Channel 4 with Chris Evans (yes I'm that old) and he did baby left / baby right? You could play that.

I cannot remember the age with mine, oops, they were crawling about 8/ 9 months but were full term.

Mine were 8 months and all the other babies were sitting. They were rolling and doing everything else so hv said they are too busy growing teeth and rolling around to sit - they can't develop everything at once - only worry if at 10mo they are not sitting well.

They roll everywhere, twin 1 sits up and wriggles so much cause she never sits still :) and then you can see her forcing her self back so much so she could easily nick you out of she for you on the head.

Twin 2 just folds like a deck chair :) bless them they are funny.

Mine couldn't sit unaided for ages, then they started doing it quite easily and about a week later they started pulling themselves up to standing. Now they try to avoid sitting as much as poss. I had started to wonder, but then they surprised me. I guess it all goes in ebbs and flows.

I guess they were 8mo and couldn't really sit unaided. Now they are 9.5 and spend all their time on their feet and are almost cruising.

One has six teeth, the other has none! I find that a good reminder that it all happens at different times.
