Holy crap I'm pregnant with twins

We have a 4.5 year old DD and after trying for 3 years for a second, we did IVF in February. I have just had my first scan at 7 weeks. My doctor looked at the screen, smiled, and asked me what size car we have Smile. I had discounted the possibility of twins based on my HCG levels so am reeling a bit, to say the least. Obviously it is still very early days but can anyone offer some soothing words of wisdom and encouragement please?

Imagine all the joy that a long-wanted snuggly fluffy newborn will bring you - then double it! Congratulations and good luck getting over the shock!!

Totally agree with allthqueensmen. Twins are AMAZING!!!!! Congratulations :)
Hhhhmmm words of wisdom? Don't have any as mine are 16 months and I'm still winging it! But I do know they are happy and healthy and the best thing ever.

Your little girl will be at such a lovely age to enjoy her new brothers/sisters and help out with little bits and pieces.

If anyone offers to help out with anything at all, say YES!

Good luck with your pregnancy :)

As an older sister of twins (4 year gap) I can tell you your DD will love it & be quite helpful.

Good luckGrin

Congratulations!! We've got the bugaboo donkey, which has been brilliant for us! Wider than alot, but I love the fact they are side by side rather than one on top! We're still using it as the pram (babies are now 6 mths old), and they have a morning and afternoon nap in it. The car seat adaptor is great, and does make it very easy, but also makes it a bit too wide for alot of shops (DH thinks this is a bonus!!). Our DD1 is 2.5, and she loves being a big sister to twins - they are two living dolls to her!! The best of luck, it all gets exciting from here! :)

Congratulations!!

The Out & About is a great double, fits through most doors, is light and you can push it easily with one hand :) It's a side by side and reclines flat for newborns. It fits in the boot of a Zafira.

I wouldn't rush into buying the buggy though - who knows what new models might come out before your due date!

As a general caution - you do not need 2 of everything!! Grin

Congratulations.

No tips, but my mum is a twin and she has a most amazing bond with her brother.
