19 month old twins, I can't keep up! Any advice please?

I have 19 month old twin boys. They are in to everything and don't stop moving. I know this is normal behaviour but it's really hard.
I feel like I have no where I can go with them and relax a little and actually enjoy my time with them.
I want to have fun but it just feels so hard at the moment, any advice please!
They are uninterested in toys. I swear if I put them in a room full of toys and there was one thing they shouldn't touch (out of of signt and reach) they would find it and obsess about it.
If I go to soft play they just want to cruise around the tables and grab peoples food/phone/anything. If I go to playgroup they go through peoples handbags/obsess with the paint/hang around the door and as soon as it's open a crack leg it out!!! And of course both in opposite directions so it's impossible to watch both 100% of the time...
Sorry for the rant.....one of those days (shock)
DS1 was the same and that was hard with just 1!
I love them to bits and am so grateful to have twins. I want to try and do activities with them as don't want them to miss out just because there are 2 of them. If we stay at home they just seem bored and cry a lot.
I can t seem to make them happy!

Hi Jen - I have 20 month boys they are in to everything too, is it just a phase Hmm ? I dont know because they are my first and I am just winging it.

We go to alot of playgroups at childrens centres which are secure so they cant escape, staff there are always happy to help out but I do spend most of my time doing a meercat impression and running around making sure they dont climb anywhere they shouldnt.

Soft play I dont do on my own, they both go in different directions and have no fear when it comes to climbing and going down slides head first.

If we go out walking I put little life backpacks on them and have one wallking at a time - they take it it turns in the pushchair and when we go to the park I try and take them when it's not busy. Sorry no real advice - but your not alone Smile
If they are not interested in toys do they like messy play ? My 2 will happily play with corn flour mixed with water and soap flakes mixed with water or just plain water.

Thanks MuckingFuddle
Nice to know I'm not alone Smile
Last couple of days been easier, tried baking this aft which kept them occupied and still for a while! Will try messy play.
I have only taken them out on a walk once, they haven't been walking for very long so not too confident yet. I bought some twin reins they were
fantastic.
I am trying to chill out a bit more and not stress so much!!

Do you have a garden? It'll be great once the weather is better but until then, is there a local branch of Tamba or similar near you? They may run a group or know of some twin friendly ones.

HI jen80 - I hear you! Mine are 16 month b/g and into everything. They just get so grouncy and wind each other up terribly if we are at home a lot. I have found things much easier now the weather is a bit better - mine have wellies and splash suits so we get out whatever the weather and they are happy just to toddle about and explore and chase a ball for a while. The other thing that has kept mine occupied for ages recently is the sand pit at the local park - they sit there playing for ages before making a break for it in opposite directions. Your twin reins sound good - which ones are they?

Glad the baking went well Jen - first time we tried it my little monsters just tipped the cake mix on the floor and wiped it all over the cupboard doors Grin
