Hi everyone,

I know every babies ate diffrent but I was wondering if anyone has had there babies around that time and if they needed time in scbu?

I have 3 other children and I would love to be able to think I can be at home for Xmas as a whole family.

Just some baby info, at the moment I am 33+3 babies had scan yesterday and baby 1 weighs 4lb3 and baby 2 weighs 4lb8, I had steriods at 27 weeks plus thy said a couple of days before csection I'll have 2 more lots.

Had my non ID DTs at 37 weeks by c-section. 1DD was 6.5lbs and 1DD was 5lb - any smaller and she would have been in scbu. Both were fine, as was I. DD2 soon caught up. If there are no problems or complications with you or the babies you should be home for xmas.

Welcome to the twins club - I bet your other dcs are really excited.

DS1 was 33 + 2 and we spent 3 weeks in hospital (2 in NNICU). DS2 was 36 + 2 and we spent just two nights on the post-natal ward. I'd say your chances of a short stay are very good, but it will depend how well they take to feeding and whether they are at all jaundiced. Breathing is usually fine at 36 weeks. It sounds like you are being well cared for. Hope everything goes well for you

Thank you, I had my daughter at 34 weeks she was fine apart from an infection a waters had gone early, but was only in for 5 days.

Fingered crossed we will all be snuggled at home Xmas eve.

My ID twins were born at 36+4, with a planned c-section. I had the steroids at 33 wks (bleed with placenta previa), and DT1 was 6lb 6oz, DT2 only 4lb 14oz (I'm convinced she stopped growing after the bleed as all the scans before found them to be very similar). They didn't need to go into SCBU, and we went home after 3 days -I think it would have been less if it wasn't the weekend! Hope you manage to have Christmas at home with everyone! :)

Mine were born at 35 weeks, 4.1 and 4.5lb. The smaller one was in SCBU for 4 days. I was in an extra 2 days after that to get bf established (first time mum) and partly because I was too scared to take them home.

Hi. I had my twins by CS at just under 37 weeks. I was told they would weigh approx. 5/5.5lbs but they were infact 7.11 and 6.14. Neither of my babies had to go to SCBU. My son did have jaundice though and had light therapy.

Fingers crossed you are home by Christmas!! All the best x
