When to pack hospital bag?

When should I pack my hospital bag? dd1 was born at 39 +5 but I'm now pg with ID twins and so I don't know what to do?

Do you buy a spare toothbrush etc to keep in the bag? I don't want to put a nightshirt in there when I could be using it while pg. I'm so confused.

A twin mum advised me to get pretty much everything done by 33 weeks, on the basis that I'd be too big and tired after, regardless of when they came. I think it was quite good advice.

I've packed my bag and an overnight bag for the older children in case we have to leave them with friends and left a list of what's missing in the top - toothbrush etc.

Now of course it's been sitting in the spare room for a month...

I packed mine at 40+1 with my boys as I knew I was going to be induced the next day. It had been vaguely in my plans to do it for weeks - pretty much sums me up Grin. I might (possibly) have done it sooner had I other children to sort too but I figure I can pack quickly enough for a weekend away and we do that quite regularly and there's not much that's soooo essential that it would matter if I had to wait until dp could bring it from home. In the event, we were re-admitted to hospital with the boys when they were 3 days old and were definitely not sorted for that. It was fine.

I've been told hospital poilicy is not to let you go beyond 37.5w with id twins so should probably do it before 40+1w. I think I'll do it at 31w so I can take the bag with me on holiday the following week.

My id twins were born at 34&3, how pregnant are you now? I think with id twins you have a 40% likelyhood of premature labour. My hospital policy was 36 weeks for id twins and automatic c section as my 2 shared a placenta.

I think Kingfix is right, best to be ready as it's quite hard to bend down by the end Grin

Thank you. I'm very excited so will probably do it really early. I'm only 18 weeks at the moment. Mine share a placenta too and I'm having a cs.
