My DT have just gone in to year1 and have been separated at our request.

One is fine but the other is having problems settling in and said today he was sad that they were not in the same class.

He is in a mixed yr1 reception class and said he doesn't like being with reception children.

His teacher says he doesn't do as he is told, being silly etc. She wants to get SENCo involved.

Have any of you experienced this.

My dt's are in nursery so still 2gether but when they go into yr1 they will be automaticly seperated not by choice but school policy i think this is wrong as they have been 2gether 4 there whole lives .

My Dts have just started reception and are in the same class at my request as I feel there is no need to seperate them at this stage. They have settled in well but I know when they go up to Y1 they will be seperated and I hope this does not unsettle them. But it is too early to worry about it . I would just keep encouringing your DT about school , talking positively about it. Talk about his friends in his class and point out that his DT is only in the next class and you will see him at play, lunch etc. and hopefully soon he will not be so anxious.

Have just started athread similar on Eduv=cation. I have twin girls in yr1. They have been in seperate classes since reception. One twin is fine and the other is disruptive and naughty!! Not sure if it would actually make a difference if they were in the same class though.
