Things to do/ways to play while feeding the other twin

Hi, I hope you can help. Just as I got into a system, they've gone and changed Grin

I am breastfeeding my twins, who are 7 weeks on Wednesday. I am not very good at feeding them together (I hurt, and they don't feed properly), so I have been feeding one, then putting them in the bouncy chair while I feed the second. Until now, they have both been happily entertained by my pointless chatter/singing while sitting in the bouncer.

As of yesterday, the bouncer and my chatter is not enough enterainment for my boy. Unless he is feeding or sleeping (getting less every day) he wants proper entertainment Shock This only needs to be a walk around, or some proper one-on-one eye contact/limb wiggling, but these are impossible to do while feeding the second twin.

I've got round this with most feeds by feeding my daughter first, while my son is sleeping/entertained by a dummy because he is hungry, but I don't think this will work long term as my daughter is becoming more aware/interactive as the days go on ....

So, to the point of the post! Does anyone have any suggestions for entertaining twin 1 while twin 2 feeds? At 7 weeks, they can't grasp anything more than a muslin, and they seem to find hanging toys (over bouncer) a bit scary.

Any ideas?

Can you sit on the floor next to the bouncer? As I had a 17 month dd when my twins were born I had to master the art of bf'ing one-armed in the most uncomfortable postions! Grin More often than not, I was sat next to a bouncer so I could tickle/waggle a toy/rock one twin whilst feeding the other and trying to do whatever dd1 needed my nelp with at the same time!

What about a playmat/gym? At that age, they develop so fast that the dangling things will be a challenge for them and they'll enjoy the tummy time too.
If all else fails, washing machine on spin cycle with a bouncer in front! Grin

Thanks for your ideas - we had a strange limbo time between 7 and about 9 weeks, where DS was aware enough to be bored waiting for me to feed DD but not aware enough to engage with me in the bouncer/with a toy/giggles.

Things have now moved on (as they do!) and both babies are now more than happy to giggle with me from the bouncer or watch hanging toys if I swing them (not got the hang of grasping toys/hitting them yet, but its coming).

I like the idea of the washing machine on a spin cycle! Will keep that in reserve for when things get really tough!

Thanks again Smile

[late post sorry] - this was my biggest dilemma, actually! well I kind of have to put one on the floor to crawl about at the moment, and leave toys strategically dotted about, with minimal success. Pre-crawling I tended to put one in a bouncy chair and rock it with my foot, or put on Tinky-Winky and Co on the TV, or give him little crackly items to chew and explore. I found a 'treasure basket' incredibly useful. This is a shallow basket full of random items like a paintbrush, a make-up mirror, a crackly piece of paper, a plug, a giant button, a rubber plug, metal bolt etc etc. Just kept them amused at those crucial moments. But they inevitably cry, and you do kind of learn to switch off because you have no choice. Learn to switch off The Guilt too, though!!! hope all going well.....

I had a toy octopus, the one where each leg has a different texture or noise but to be honest I couldn't bf for long so it was both of them on the bouncer feeding at the same time!
