Why are my girls so horrible to each other?

My twins are 2 in 4 weeks.

They are horrid to each other a lot. Well almost all of the time actually.
I was handling it quite well for a while, but now it is getting me down.

Hitting, biting, hairpulling, pushing over. Mostly to each other but sometimes to us and their older sister.

I seem to spend my whole day shouting at them, mostly to shock them into stopping whatever they are doing to each other or to us.

I need some tips to deal with this please!

Hi!
It's just such a horrid age isn't it!
Here are some suggestions, all rubbish I'm sure!!!

I would keep them that busy that they don't have a chance to create havoc (I'm sure you do this anyway, but..)

Could you prepare yourself the night before? Maybe plot your day in 2 hour segments and run a kind of military campaign with them? Even have the toys out for when they come downstairs in the morning. Tire them out so they don't have the energy to hair pull!

I also made stuff from junk, a cereal packet turned into a postbox and they spent hours with milk bottle lids and tupperwares. It seemed to keep them happy and was free!

My mother in law also suggested hiding a load of toys somewhere for emergencies and having special toys which they only get when they go out and need to behave. Rotating toys is my top tip.

I promise it gets easier, our twin sons are 2.8 now and really lovely, hang in there!!!

Good luck, you're doing a fantastic job!!
