Hello,

Funny message I know but when it comes to being pregnant i call my dad mystic dad. He knew i was pregnant with a girl for my last child before I had found out and now he said i am pregnant with twin girls.

Got my scan monday, are there any signs of multiple births before this....

;)

I had a strange feeling Smile

When I read through all my booking in notes and the bounty bits you get given, I saw the cartoon pictures of breastfeeding and a woman breastfeeding twins, and I thought that will be me and it will in just over 2 weeks!

I wasn't all surprised when I had my scan. Dp was though Grin

Let us know if you were right!

starshaker · 02/11/2010 20:37

My twin pregnancy was easier but i have no clue whatsoever until i saw the 2 little bubbles on the screen. Think my words were "tell me thats not 2, fuck, it is isnt it, shit"

Now this is from somebody who really doesnt swear.

Although i did find out at 6 weeks. If i had found out at 12 I deff would have known as i was huge and already in maternity clothes

Lavitabellissima · 02/11/2010 21:03

That made me laugh Starshaker, how are you getting on?

starshaker · 02/11/2010 21:07

Getting on great. Twins 13 weeks old now and sleep from 7 to 7.30. They are totally amazing. Remember saying to the nurse as i was leaving "i cant believe im actually allowed to take 2 babies home" like it was a special offer at the supermarket that says 1 per customer lol

Lavitabellissima · 02/11/2010 21:13

That's so lovely, might be tapping you up for some sleep advice in a few weeks then Grin glad to hear you are doing so well. What did you call them?

Sorry for hijacking your post Bethan Smile I'm in an antenatal club called "anyone expecting twins" so if you are having twins, make sure you pop in and say hello x

starshaker · 02/11/2010 21:13

bethan37 · 02/11/2010 21:24

Ooo i will take a look at that. Im bricking it, I dont know how you do it! I am still in my skinny jeans and am 10 weeks...

Healthy baby first is my worry so not trying to say its a disaster but it would feel like it!

I had a feeling of something not being quite right with my first set. I was dreading the 12 week scan. I thought something was going to be wrong with the baby, but it ws twins! I had no other signs-no sickness etc.

With my second set i had no idea at all. Just felt completely normal and i never thought i would be lucky enough to have a second set..but i did Grin

terryble · 03/11/2010 16:36

I found out at a 14 week scan. It explained the severe all-day sickness I'd been experiencing.

nothingbyhalves · 08/11/2010 17:25

well???? Is it 2 for the price of one? I had a feeling, i was also a little but not massively larger than i expected. But mainly i just "knew". Please let us know......

magnummum · 08/11/2010 19:12

I told DH I was sure it was twins - more sickness than in first pregnancy and earlier on and I was totally exhausted. But,had an early scan at 7 weeks where we were told there was only one baby and were quite relieved.

Until I had another scan at 10 weeks as I'd had some bleeding and the nurse said "there's the baby and it's fine" cue DH looking very worried when looking at monitor "and there's the other one and it's fine too. You did know you were having twins didn't you?" Smile

They are 18 months old today and a total joy though the house is in chaos and I've never regained as much brain function as pre pregnancies but such is life! Good luck and let us know if mystic dad is right!

bethan37 · 09/11/2010 10:08

There is one in there. Had my scan and she searched for me, i was obssessed lol!

Good luck to all you ladies with more than one, i admire you! I do agree though that if there had been more than one I would have coped and loved them very much, but had to admit am relieved.

We sort of guessed as Totsmummy was particularly sick and her hGC level was sky high, so the scan sort of went,
"There's baby number 1........And there's baby number 2........"

I was just about to get up and she said,
"and lets just check for any more.."

!!!! What do you mean!!! That's impossible !!! I almost fell off my chair...

MummyAbroad · 10/03/2011 01:07

Totsdaddy How high was sky high? Mine was 8211 at 24DPO (havent been scanned yet)

Jojay · 10/03/2011 20:57

I had no clue.

I was showing earlier than with my previous pregnancies but it was my third baby and everyone just said that that was what happened with third babies, stomach muscles shot to pieces etc etc.

No sickness either. No family history.

You could have knocked me down with a feather when they told us!

PrincessScrumpy · 13/03/2011 19:18

I knew the pg was very different to dd1. I thought it was a boy. I had lots of cramps and some spotting so had early scan (showed empy sac), blood tests (showed increased hormone levels but nothing major), then 2nd scan (when we thought it was ectopic) showed 2 blobs with strong heartbeats.

So I guess I knew it didn't feel right and something was wrong/different but I didn't guess - was a lovely shock. DH and I are still laughing about it as it doesn't seem real yet. 13wks +1 pg.

MummyAbroad · 15/03/2011 14:59

Princess if you dont mind me asking, how high was your HCG? My scan is tomorrow - not feeling like its twins today but cant wait to find out one way or the other if it is or not.

PrincessScrumpy · 15/03/2011 17:00

I can't remember numbers but I know they wanted it to double to show a normal pg progressing and it didn't quite double so definitely didn't imply twins.

I had my 12 wk scan today and got my dates properly decided - I'm 12 +5 today.

there are moments I forget I'm pg - inbetween the ridiculous night sickness and need to shower at 3am - poor dh!

Good luck with your scan.

PrincessScrumpy · 15/03/2011 17:01

I don't know if it's relevant but the week I found out I was 4 wks pg was the same week I had flu and my temp got to 103.6 degrees at one point. Part of me thinks the heat split the egg - I'm not a scientist! Grin
