Hi there...for some reason I've been rather laid back about kitting ourselves out for the babies (i'm 34 weeks) and all i have is 1980's silver cross which I had thought would do for them to sleep in together downstairs/daytime during the first few weeks/months...(?!) Have a cot for upstairs and nighttime for them to share, aware we will have to get another at some stage...

What did you use with your newborn twins? I've just had second thoughts that maybe i'm not quite prepared enough!!Confused

Mine slept in mountain buggy carrycot, so not much different :) I found bouncy chairs pretty useful as one twin had bad reflux though. Good for you for being laid back!

We had one cot upstairs and one downstairs. They shared a for a while but we had to split them up when they started to wriggle and bump into each other. Can't remember when that was but it certainly wasn't months.

Oh, we slung them across beds, in Moses baskets, and the pram.

Mostly though, it seemed as if they slept on the lap of someone mumsnetting/faffing about on the computer.

We had a cot downstairs and one upstairs and they started off using the downstairs one for daytime naps. Worked for a few weeks and then dt1 decided she would rather sleep in the back hall in the dark in the pramSmile

We had carrycots at first when they were tiny, then moved them into bouncy chairs. They stayed in these for ages, they were a godsend.

At nights they shared a cot in our room till approx 5 months, when they kept flailing about and waking each other up, then moved into a cot each in their own room.

We had Moses baskets downstairs for (I think) about four months, then bouncy chairs. We also had Moses baskets upstairs, one on either side of the bed, so DP and I could rock one each at night while still lying down (that was a good one). Then they moved into two cots in our room (they were always rubbish at sharing, just stopped each other sleeping), then up to two cots in their own room at six months, which is when they started reliably not to need us at night time.

We had a cot upstairs and one downstairs for about 4 weeks, they shared them (sideways across the cot, made a little nest out of a rolled up muslin under the fitted sheet....).

At 4 weeks we got rid of the downstairs cot and used bouncy chairs for daytime sleep. They were briliant - def my best buy - we used until around 8 mths old when they could sit up and roll out! I had ones that you could change the position of - so could lie flat for sleep, prop up like a chair to have a look around, sit up straight for weaning. They also had carry handles to move a sleeping baby around should the need arise!

They shared a cot sideways across for about 6 weeks, then end to end until about 10 weeks, then we needed a cot each so they had to move into their own room (ours not big enough for 2 cots).

Good luck with it all!
