DS1 was today invited to a birthday party for triplets who are in the same year as him at school. 2 girls and a boy, who'll be 5 at the weekend.

None of my friends, now, or in the past, have had twins, never mind triplets, and I'm not sure what to do about presents.

Should I buy each one a small present (I don't know them very well as they only started school last week) or would a 'joint' present be acceptable.

And if the latter, what sort of thing should I buy . I'm on a tight budget so can't afford a lot, but I've got no idea what I should buy for (effectively) a 'group' of 5 year olds, (boy, and 2 girls) as I've only ever had to think about presents for 'single' children.

thanks

Me again! Another thought perhaps my three are strange but they love being given their own toiletries, esp those soaps with things inside!

QOQ - I understand what you mean about a "multiplayer" type game that would be used by all 3 children, which they would probably love, but it would still be a "single" wrapped pressie.

My mum used to buy a big, expensive-type item (like a climbing frame) for our girls, but would also give them each a small, token pressie, like a box of chocolates, so that they physically could unwrap something with their name on it. (No, I am not suggesting you should buy these children a climbing frame!!)

what did you get qoq?

How was your DS's birthday? Happy Birthday to him btw

Happy birthday Tafara! Good luck with the party QofQ-I'm sure he'll have a great time. DD1 likes "home" birthday parties with games best.

ML - going to get something tomorrow - I had to make 2 trips to town as it was, as I couldn't fit everything in the basket on the pushchair LOL.

Need to go to the market to get some grapes and other fruit and veg, so I'll sort something tomorrow.

DS1 had a lovely day, got a card from school, one of those 'training' watches from us, a rugby ball (from teh 99p shop ) from his brother and (another) car from DS2's godmother.

I'm about to head off downstairs to make a birthday cake, fairy cakes, biscuits, jelly, flapjack and bread for tomorrow. I've also got to blitz the shelves in the living/dining room, wash the floor in the bathroom and tidy the kitchen - so I may (or may not) be back on (much) later

Hi QOQ,
Hope the day went well! Did you get my e-mail about Tiptoes? Thanks again.

Been reading this thread with interest... So QoQ how did the birthday go?

I'm also mum of b/g twins and I'll agree def separate pressies!

Whereabouts in the country are you? I've recently started my own Mini IQ party plan business and wondered if you know about Mini IQ? May be too late to arrange now for the particular purchase you're talking about, but for future reference - suggest you find a Mini IQ associate in your area - If you host a party in your home you get 15% of your guest's orders in free products (books/toys and games for the 0-12 age range) average party sales are roughly £200 (more in the run up to Christmas)giving the average hostess about £30 in FREE BOOKS! great way to stock up, not just on Christmas pressies for your own kids but also for those others you have to buy for... and btw expect LOADS of party invitations in reception - this is just the start of things to come... they all seem to want to invite everyone once they start to make friends! If you want more info on Mini IQ or to be put in touch with a lady in your area email me on [email protected]
