How often were you scanned with twins?

Hi all,
I'm currently 29 wks and was just wondering how often you were scanned with your twins after 20wks as I'm having to go in every 2 weeks at the moment and hospital have said they will want me in each week after 30 weeks.

Although they have said my twins are on the small side (Twin A is 996g AND Twin B is 1158g) they have also said there is nothing nothing to worry about so I'm wondering why do I have to go in every week?

Was or is this what is happening with you because to be honest it's causing me a bit of stress

This definitely varies between regions. I was scanned monthly till about 30 weeks when they would have moved to fortnightly and then weekly. Around that point I developed pre-eclampsia and it became more frequent than that, but I had the plan set out from my first consultant meeting.

From my experience of problems developing with the pre-eclampsia - if there is something wrong they tell you. Nothing to worry about probably means just that.

Similar to rattling here, but 7 yrs ago. Changed to weekly when twin 1's growth slowed at 34 else, but then they were born at 35! Good luck, at least they're keeping an eye on you

I am also 29 weeks, was scanned at 21, then 28, next is at 34, 36, 38 & 40.

Think it's different with identicals though, mine are DCDA, so don't think they worry so much about them.

Thanks for the replies,
I know I shouldn't moan about the hosital wanting to keep an eye on me I'm lucky to have such good care it's just that a fortnightly and soon to be weekly treck to the hospital (via 2 buses with a 3 yr old) feels a bit like overkill if everything is ok.

I don't want to be ungrateful but just a bit fed up with the obsesssion about the babies weight especially as they are currently gaining 100-150g a week each.

Mamamojito think mine are the same as yours with 2 sacs and 2 placentas, is that what DCDA means? Good luck with yours anyway Smile

Hello, yes 2 sacs and 2 placentas here too...I actually made a mistake in my first post, my next scan will be at 32 weeks and then I think they're fortnightly after that.

They haven't made any mention of the babies sizes to me other than they are bang on average which makes a change as with my son they kept telling me he was small for dates.

Hopefully if they catch up bit they will ease up a bit but to be honest I'd be happy if they wanted to see me that much although I don't have the travel hassles you do.

Good luck with yours too!
