Hair again_ shall I just cut it?

My 2 year old has lovely mixed race hair which has never been cut and if it were straight it would be about shoulder length. Just recently he won't let me brush it at all, even though it doesn't hurt as I make sure I'mm gentle. He wanted a hair cut last time his elder brothers had one, and I'm tired of struggling as he won't sit still or stop screaming. His hair seems to be tangling faster than before shall I just give up and take him to the barbers?

Have you thought about plaiting it, loose plaits ot cornrow? this way you would only need to comb it when it is washed. It sounds like it needs a trim this will help wth the tangling as dry split dead hair tends to knot quicker. I am a afro hairdresser & work with alot if mixed race hair i also have 5 mixed race kids of my own so know what you are going through. If you really want it cut then cut it but try a trim first maybe 1/2 inch or inch off the bottom & see if that helps. Also remember to only brush when wet as this helps to prevent breakage good luck

I have to spray my dc's hair with lots of water before I even try to brush it. When they were toddlers I had some fabric callet the hair mat and it was kept in a box with the brushes and the spray and things and also some toys that we only got out at hair brushing times. They loved that and it worked really well.

I wouldn't mind cornrows in fact my second son had them but his dad won't let him have them :0(. I think I will take him to a barber to take a litttle off. I like the idea of fabric, I did try bribing him with sweets which worked to an extent.

Thanks for the advice I'll try to brush it now argghg!

I'm in central/east london. I sort of brushed it yestrday but the hot water has been off for two days now so he's going to have to wait until it gets fixed. (hopefully today).

Thanks for the offer
