Anyone out there who is from Pakistan and stuck here in Leicester Like me....I have discovered this site today and have written to almost all the related discussions with the same topic!
All my friends are NON ASIAN and to be honest I'd also like to socialise with women having the same background who can share the same languge, jokes etc, also want some pakistanis around my daughter too...well she is only 2.5 and I think this is where its starts!
Pleasecontact me here or hsn@[email protected].
looking fwd to hearing from any.

Not asian I'm afraid, but welcome to mn anyway and hopefully you'll find some mums on here who you can relate to. I'm sure there are some asian mums on here and if you keep this bumped up they might see it.

pkhasan · 30/06/2005 18:48

what is bumped up I mean how does it work...I guess i need to find out how to use mums net first!

Thanks Aero for your message, could yo tel what is BUMP?

hi pkhasan - 'bump' simply means keeping your post in the active conversations list. I've seen your other thread and truly hope you find some like minded folk to chat to/meet with etc. I totallt understand why you'd like to meet up with some people from the same culture as yourself. I'm from N Ireland myself (not quite the same I know), but I just love meeting people here (I live in Kent), who come from 'home' - we just understand each other perfectly from the start and often end up knowing someone in common as NI is so small!

Aero · 30/06/2005 22:35

buy that, I mean when you post, your post goes to the top of the list until the next person posts on another thread etc and you move down the list until someone posts on your thread again. Did I make any sense at all there?

pkhasan · 30/06/2005 22:56

Hi Aero
Thanks so much for your message, yes it does make sense, and i'm glad that you agree with me about the same background thing!;) It does make sense and nothing racist about it...as it might sound like that.

bumpity bump for you.
but i think you are more likely to make friends if you dont try so hard to make friends from a specific background.

pkhasan · 04/07/2005 10:44

But Stitch I already have more than enough friends from other nationality...I only came on this site to meet ppl like me...now that my girl is growing up would like her to have pakistani friends like her other friends...does that make sense! I dont think i'm trying too hard coz using this site is the only thing i'm doing towards it!

yes it does make sense, but it also smacks of desperation. im sorry i sound so harsh, but i probly wouldnt respond to someone who was so singleminded in this way.
mumsnet is about making friends, and helping others. if you just try doing that, then you may find people like the ones you are searching for. and if you dont, well, hopefully mn will still have been a positive influence in your life. in my experience there is no such thing as too many friends, acquaintances maybe, but you can never have too many friends.

to meet pakistani women, try the local mosque/temple etc. arabic classes, asian mother and toddler groups etc. in a city with as large an asian population as leicester, i dont think it shoudl be too difficult. try talking to the women at an asian beauty parlour/hairdressers etc.
good luck in your search

Pomi · 11/07/2005 15:18

I am asian though do not live in leicester. I never knew the meaning of bump till now. I asumed it means a thread which have no response. Thanks Areo for the explanation.

Pomi · 11/07/2005 15:31

pkhasan you are so much better than me in making friends. I have no non asian friend and i dont think i can make one. I hope you find some new friends from your area.

ameli · 19/07/2005 15:51

stitch,

people come here to make friends , you are not helping by calling her desperate....your post smacks of bitchiness

starsq · 30/07/2005 14:33

Hiya im muslim but from bham,,,i use this site to get help and advice from all,, although i understand where ur cuming from pkhasan,,,it is ok to meet friends from all races,,,there is nothing wrong in getting views from all,,,howver stitch i think u are being too patronising by sying she should meet in beauty parlours or local mosques,,,we asian gals are everywhere including recreational areas,,in faCT we probably dont get pissed but doesnt mean we cant keep in touch with other asian,,time is the main factor especially when u have two small toddlers....I have friends from asian backgrounds but we rarley see each other bcase i have 9 month old,,,,but i also have friends from work whom i speak to frquently anyhow nice to spk to u hassan and rest of u this is a great site ,,,hope u enjoy it,,,,,
