Hello, please could I ask for help in pronouncing a name: Shankarshan. He is ds's friend at school, and I don't know whether the 'sh' sounds should be 'sh' or 's'. I've asked his mum how to say it, and she says 'Sankarsaan', so that's what we've been saying.
But then I noticed that she pronounces 'share' (for example) as 'sare'. So I don't know whether she says 's' rather than 'sh' because she has a speech impediment (and I would feel rude asking), or if it's simply because 'sh' is pronounced 's' in Bengali.
