When did you go back to full tim work after maternity leave?

I took almost a year of maternity leave and since then I went back to full time putting my baby five full days at nursery. After the nursery raised their fees, now it costs us £1,600 per month, which is quite depressing even after taking into tax-free childcare but we have no one who can look after my baby. I feel I'd rather change my job to part time and spend time with my baby if it'll be more or less same financial wise but I'm on my probation so it's not an option.
I'm wondering if you don't have anyone who can help childcare, when you went back to full time work?

Could it be an option after your probation ends?

Personally I'd work out how much better/worse off you'd be in each circumstance.

If you're down a couple of hundred by childcare then personally I'd reduce hours unless you're due to be remortgaging within the next couple of years before your DC starts school.
