Instant weave for bad hair days

Has anybody tried wearing an instant weave?

I'm currently between styles and until I decide what to do with my hair (natural at the moment), I was thinking about using these to protect my natural hair from the elements as well as to give me an instant new look for the fraction of the price it would cost to go to the hair dresser.

TIA

What's an instant weave? I've got a normal weave at the moment and I can't decide whether I like it, or not. It makes me look like my mother.

You attach the hair to your head using clips and it looks like a weave, allegedly. Seems like a quick fix solution to when you are having a bad hair day and looks better than a wig, I think.

Interesting. I may have to investigate. Thanks.

Found this on youtube. It shows you how to put in a instant weave (they call it a 3/4 wig). You cover up the clip with your own hair. Looks interesting.

What's the difference between an instant weave and a wig?

I don't know - we need someone from the hair industry to explain to us wee amateurs!

An instant weave differs to a wig in that with a wig the cap/base of it covers the full head from nape(back) right up to the hairline, where as the cap of the instant weave starts from the nape and covering the surrounding hairline area except the front, where it stops about an inch or so away from the front part of the hairline, givng you the ability to cover the cap-base(weft), with your own hair at the front, for a more natural look.
